Wondering how many of you have seen this? The 1st one is ok but the second one is pretty poor. It's very meh, compared to the animated stuff dc put out.

It's pretty disappointing alright, they clearly saw increased demand for the title and decided to increase the print run. But we already know Zavvi don't care about collectors; they'd happily sacrifice potential value and desirability, just for some more £££.

For instance, the extremely limited Frozen print run from Blufans left many collectors empty handed, and guess what? Several members said they'd prefer to miss out on a title, rather than have the print run increased. All of Blufan's titles (and others like Kimchi etc.) are highly desirable and have retained value.

Companies like this know what collectors want, Zavvi don't (or just don't care). I hope they get stuck with their extra stock, just like the 20+ 'Exclusive' titles currently on their site for less than £10. I'm going to cancel also, and wait for a price drop. If it doesn't drop and sells out, it doesn't matter as it's not going to be that desirable anyway, due to the high print run. They'll be flooded on eBay and the scalpers won't be able to shift them.

I feel the other way round with Frozen blufans. Many collectors missed it and are going to pay silly money at the bay whilst Frozen was available at Zavvi for 23 after discount for long. Many prefer to pay under 15 instead of 3 or 4 times the price for decorated Asian releases.

Yeah, I understand the other side of the argument too. Not all collectors share the same opinion as regards print runs. Some don't care how many is printed as long as they get the copy they want. Blufan's Frozen was extremely limited (vs demand) so that could have done with a slight print run increase, whilst still retaining value/desirability.

But personally, I think Zavvi just saturate the market until they've milked every penny they can get! They go too far the other direction. I understand a happy medium is not always that easy to determine, but 1,000 was an ideal run for this title. It looks like it's going to be 2,000+ now...

To be fair, I always thought something was amiss when it sold out so quickly.
The art wasn't anything special, and It doesn't seem like many have seen the films.

Couldn't it just be Zavvi's weird stock system rather than an increased print run?

Yes, maybe - but Zavvi did specifically remove the word 'Ultra' from the title (preceding limited print run) so it definitely looks like they've adjusted the run due to demand. But we'll see. And Marvel steelbooks always seem to be popular, regardless. For me, I've nothing like this (artwork wise) in my collection, and I collect Marvel steelbooks, so that's the reason behind my interest.

I remember seeing ultra in the description.

I think from now on im gonna take a screen shot of every steel i order.

Yep, I definitely remember that as well.

I've also just cancelled my order for this, not because of the potentially upped print run, but purely because I have absolutely no idea why i'd ordered this in the first place.
