Lol what's going on !? Maybe they did mess up the price after all. So if it is sold out and they "refund" everyone a £5 they'll lose themselves £10,000 ... Unlikely :(

When did it ever say that?

lmao it was on their product page a mere 24 hours ago, cant you remember?

people were defending it, making up all types of excuses as to why it is actually WEA even though its just the bog standard bluray art. well, its official now, its not WEA at all. as most of us knew all along.

I don't think we want a repeat of the Ultimate Avengers thread, so i'm not going to argue whether or not it did. I do not recall Zavvi using this terminology though, it's something i've only ever noticed in information from the guys here.

people were only saying it was WEA because it said so on zavvi's site. its gone now anyway so the only other thing that could be a mistake now is the price...

It was WEA all along at least to my eyes from what was being posted here. If this isn't WEA I may cancel my pre-order unless the price is slashed by 5~10 quid.

Same, will give Zavvi till Friday to confirm correct price and finish, before cancelling. I still don't think it's sold out though.

Hey guys, fyi-our thread has 'WEA' in the title because that was the 1st hand info received from Zavvi before the info was posted at HDN.

Not sure if it's the case here, but not every studio permits a retailer to release all details concerning finish, print run, etc in advance.

We'll check with them to see if there have been any updates on their end, that they can share with us. Thanks.

Every Zavvi release thread is going to turn into UA again and again. Zavvi want to be steelbook specialists with low print runs yet they are very far from companies like Kimchi. They are secretive about runs, change listings often and won't confirm finishes. They should either go back to just releasing whatever they get at cheaper prices, or start giving A LOT more info.

Just a little intelligence from them would have seen this release sold out in a day. Confirm finish, and art properly like Kimchi and other specialists which with these limited runs puts them in competition with, rather than Amazon.

This is a great film, but Zavvis antics yet again have soured another release.

Maybe we should screenshot every listing when it first goes up. And put in OP? But then when they change it I guess their will be even more backlash. Dunno...

I'm not sure about Zavvi changing the listing for this. A few members in the Ultimate Avengers thread swore they could remember seeing something that wasn't actually there. I know Zavvi have changed listings in the past though. Sin City is a good example, the print run information was removed when the different cuts were confirmed. I don't think it's a sneaky change in that instance, more likely one of those silly errors that Zavvi are known for.

I agree that Zavvi need to share more information though, but like DB says that isn't always possible. It might be that Zavvi don't know or aren't allowed to say, it would make no sense to hold back information if they had it. I think it's a little unfair to compare Zavvi to Asian retailers, we know they operate under a different set of rules. They seem to have a much bigger say in the process from title selection to artwork, finishing, slipcovers, gifts etc.

It wouldn't be a bad idea, there would be no disputing then.

100% fair. This is being marketed as 2000 print run ultra limited collectors item. That takes it out of standard retail territory like HMV/Amazon and fully into Kimchi/Blufans territory. Zavvi have obviously paid attention to the fact these Asian releases sell out often immediately because of exclusive art and print runs, and are now aiming with these 2000 prints to get some of that market. Unfortunately that market requires a lot more info to be shared. I can just imagine the hysteria on here if Kimchi released a steel without full disclosure of packaging, finish, print run, art etc, yet because Zavvi are British = they operate differently, not in my eyes. They need to push studio's for a full details before launch, but my personal opinion is they are not doing this as they are happy to accept whatever is given to them and are too afraid of loosing some of those exclusives.

They would sell out completely if they actually followed the Asians and gave details and were more reliable about the info they share up front.

Time will tell whether the recent batch of Ultra limiteds have nice finishes. If they turn out to be cheap matte, it will have an effect on future titles.

This could have been a serious collectable that many may have bitten the bullet on if the finish had been disclosed, but it looks like they screwed up on price which they are "now looking into" I'm exceptionally wary as to whether Zavvi will honor any price reduction for those who ordered at £25 if indeed a mistake was made. :)

why dont zavvi keep upcoming products under wraps until all the details have been finalized? when they actually decide what they are selling, when they are selling it, what it looks like and at what price, then they should show us and offer it for sale/preorder.

instead of this nonsense situation where products that arent even available for preorder are sat on the 'shelf' for months on end with forever changing specs.

I'm not sure if WEA was stated in the headline/title,
but it was 100% (DEFINITELY) there in the item description. i'm so sure because it was just yesterday, and that WEA statement in the description was the final reason why i caved in even for that insane price, and pre-ordered a copy.

;)

somehow with time i get used to all that chaos created by zavvi. but i still wonder, how can they run a big company when being so unorganized in many aspects...

anyway, i still hope for a price reduction when "under the skin" is back in stock, then i will re-order.

I pre-ordered because if the price does drop, I didn't want to miss out. If price remains the same I could well cancel, which a lot of people may do as well

For 25 sheets I'm expecting a top draw finish. If its even anything close to a wreck it Ralph finish its going straight back.

I have pre-ordered this one. So if it comes back in stock, with price reduction, my pre-order prices will also reduce automaticaly? or i have to cancel mine and make another one with better price? I don't know how it works in case of Zavvi.
