so please tell we what you loved about it lord percy,

Happy to - although im going to spoiler it for those that haven't seen it yet

I loved the atmosphere of the film which, combined with the score (which I thought was stunning btw) created an incredible sense of foreboding, dread and discomfort - I felt that I was a passenger, sat alongside an emotionless predator (for the first half of the film), completely powerless to do anything but watch her lure and kill her prey

On top if that, the visuals blew me away sucj as the cleverly designed 'kill room' (Scarlett gliding backwards over against jet black while her prey strutted and sunk to its doom

The scene on the beach was as breathtaking as it was harrowing

The simple and brilliant idea of letting ScarJo interact with the scottish public - someone so recongisable in everyday life barely turning a head im the crowd (and that added to her alienness and isolation from humanity)

I could go on about the second half of the film if youd like me to or does that satisfy you?

I will say that the one thing I didnt like was the appaling actor that attempted to **** ScarJo in the forest near the end - he was terrible

I love these kind of movies, but this wasn't as well executed as others in its "genre".

I really loved Enemy with Jake Gyllenhaal, but this just wasn't as interesting, though I liked a few elements to it - like the score, the atmosphere and the idea. It could've been executed better though imo.

i like to think i have good taste when it comes to movies as we all do,
i like all different types including many asain action and comedies,
in all fearness i dont even class this as a movie im not really shore what its classed as,
but unless you like to collect the cases,
this 90 mins that u waist of your life will be sold on ebay trust me..

I think the fact that Scarlett stars in this attracts a lot of people that wouldn't normally watch an art film. Reminds me of when Drive, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, and Melancholia came out. Or earlier in this thread when guys were bashing the film for having male nudity

Just watched it and I'm gutted that I decided to pass. This is an astonishing film that has so much going on beneath the surface and working on many levels. Someone above mentioned it's a character study of the Alien, I must disagree as I see it as a character study of society, with the Alien the blank canvas looking in.

I have little doubt that it will be timeless, looked back upon as one of the great Sci-Fi's.

Hopefully I can pick one up from Ebay at a reasonable price.

Keep an eye on this thread, I'm sure it will be available again nearer the release date.

Stay monitored to this thread, subscribe to it. I suspect there still might be a few cancellations just before or around the release date, now just a couple weeks away! I got mine when it popped up back in stock on Zavvi's website on June 20th. I was alerted by people on here. Good luck! Hope you get one.

You could always get the standard version for now and get the Steelbook at a later date [emoji4]

I too really like this type of film. Amazing bunch of movies you've just mentioned, I would love steelbooks of all the aforementioned bar Silent House (never seen it) Enemy in particular could look amazing!

Germany is getting an Enemy steelbook with that exact artwork. And yes, this does make me very happy. :D

This is a character study. It explores the her psyche during her transformation from being an emotionless killer from another world to starting to feel human emotions. You know that movies can just be about "people" and their journeys right? Not liking this movie is alright, but you didn't seem to "get it" at all. Now, I'm not going to say that you're opinion is wrong and mine is right, but you're mistaken and I'm not.

the only bit that threw me was
the rapist burning her...I mean, thats a WTF moment in an already WTF filled movie

^ I took that as simply as it was laid out:

As her character starts to develop a more humanist nature, what we find is that neither existing within the world as a detatched and emotionless being, nor as an empathetic vessel willing to try and fit in can we have any guarantee of finding acceptance. The alien being sexually assaulted and then murdered for showing her true form is also a simple element of juxtaposition with regards to how she was treating others during the first half of the film. Just because she within herself has a change of heart doesn't necessarily mean the rest of the world around her will as well.

A simple reading perhaps for what I feel will probably reward multiple viewings, but from the one ocassion I saw the film that's what I took from the ending.

yeah I can see that.

Guess I was too affixed on the shock of it. Kinda the last thing you'd expect really.

I took the ending as

again, a juxtaposition, but to show that despite the very alien nature of ScarJo's character, her method of dispatching her victims was almost serene and anaesthetised, whereas the human way of killing her was so vile, violent and almost inhuman in it's barbarism.
The contrast was one to show that even some facets of humanity are incomprehensible.

but that's just my interpretation.

I f****** love this film.

I finally got around to watching this film. Now I wish I had pre-ordered this steelbook. So good!! It was so creepy, but really held my interest.
