[DISCLAIMER:] I put this together to help members who are looking for the USA version of the Universal 'Comic' Wave Blu-ray Steelbooks. Let me state that I don't want to mislead anyone with false information, so MODs if need be, please edit this thread as you see fit.

Amazon lists these titles as not being released until June 25, 2013, but some of the titles have appeared for purchase in store on May 7, 2013 at Walmart. See the following image (specifically, the top row of SteelBooks):

Therefore, unless I receive confirmation, it should be assumed the remaining titles (Hot Fuzz, Hulk, The Mummy, Paul, Shaun Of The Dead) won't be released until June 25, 2013.

Well I've got a $10 promo code to use up, which would make The Incredible Hulk (only one I'm interested in) about £7 delivered to me in the UK. But even at this price I can't pull the trigger. No inside art, printed back, no thanks.

Barnes & Noble has a Buy 2 Get One Free sale and these steels are part of that. They are also marked at $14.11 a piece. So that works out to 28.22 + tax for 3 (and free shipping) :scat:

All 16 costs $166.10 total (7% sales tax) or $155.23 before tax (get 5 free)

My only option for getting these was Amazon since my Wal-Mart and Best Buy haven't been carrying them yet. This saves me close to $60 :D

Sweet deal sounds good to me but it's really only certain ones i would get not everyone is awesome easy pass on the set but the 3 for 28.00 bucks is awesome:oohyeah:

I also noticed a lot of these aren't in the collection manager but this line frustrated me.

They flooded the market with these and the WB line and the metalpacks all at once and I was unable to get the entire line and now they have disappeared from the shelves. Wal-mart took them off their display and they are gone. Never saw them at Best Buy or Target. I missed out on 3 of the original line (Big Lebowski, Scarface and Hulk) and I never saw anyone carry the June 25th ones (Paul, Mummy, Incredible Hulk, Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz). So now I am back to hunting online so frustrating.

Did manage to pick up 2 more yesterday but it seems I back to online after this (still missing Gran Torino and Goodfellas funny enough I missed out on those 2 the last time Best Buy released these last year as well, I also didn't get the alternative artwork green lantern and Batman Begins and Dark Knight but they were low on the list as I was trying to complete the comic book and metalpacks I didn't have first). Best Buy worked theres back into genres but it seems like they sent a bunch back because they had way more than what I could find on the shelves before they reworked them in. Wal-marts just disappeared the display and been switched out with other movies and I couldn't find them anywhere (wonder if they will show up in a bin somewhere like the Resident Evils eventually did). And I have never seen them at Target.

That means I feel 14 short (not counting the 3 double dips) between this line, the comic book like and the metalpacks that got flooded on the market all at once. There is hope for 5 of the comic book movies as those were supposed to come out today.

Also noticed they changed the price online to $19.96 for these and Best Buy is back up to $19.99 where as in store Wal-mart had them at $12.96. I tried to get the Best Buy lady to price match the $12.96 not knowing they had disappeared from Wal-mart until afterwords and do the upgrade and save but she wouldn't do both at the same time.

If you have a Costco membership or know someone who does they have a few of these at $9.99 each.

I recently just finished the entire collection. Got some at Wal-Mart, Target, Best Buy and Costco. I even bought some from the Barnes and Noble web site when they were running a buy 2 get 1 free promotion, but ended up returning all six of those because they arrived damaged. I used the Upgrade and Save promotion at Best Buy to get the remaining ones I needed for $9.99 each.

Is this collection going on and get bigger or are all the titles out now ?
I am eagerly waiting King Kong, which is due to release in the german collection in October if I recall correctly ! Is it the same for the US wave ? I need french subs, not in the german one !

These "comic book" style art steelbooks are called the "reel heroes" collection. You can also find additional titles (not in the above picture) in regular cases with a slip cover (ie- kick ass, gladiator and others).

Thanks Blurian! Yeah been there for a while 'in store only'....seems some folks picked theirs up in some stores earlier today, as well as online. Hopefully some of our members snagged them too :scat:

More than those two I saw 8 titles (got 3 I missed that I never saw in store Paul, hulk and the mummy). Also saw total recall for 3.95 on steel.

For those wondering the 8 titles I saw were

Death Race
Hellboy II
Van Helsing
Serenity
Doom
The Mummy
Hulk
Paul

Like I said i also saw Total Recalls and I did see a Man of Steel steelbook just think it was in the wrong place.

When I saw those steels I was so happy it was like Christmas I texted my wife and she was like dear god don't go crazy. I would have gone nuts had they had more but alas they didn't have the other 5 I was missing, I ended up with half that line and have 11 of them now with the 3 I got tonight still missing 4.

A lot of these were available at walmart for Black Friday for $6.96 along with the second wave. I got 6 of them I was missing (that takes my reel heroes to 20 which seems a little insane this has to be the biggest set they have done). I got Shaun of the Dead, the three Bourne movies, Hot Fuzz (was so excited to find this one) and Scarface. I also saw King Kong, Van Helsing, the Mummy, Paul, Riddick, Hellboy 2, Doom, Death Race, Serenity and the Hulk all ones I already had. I still need Fast and the Furious, Wanted, the Incredible Hulk and the Big Lebowski then I'll have all 24 from all the waves
