I've got this on order as one of my first Japanese Steels or should I now wait for the inevitable UK release?
I don't think these will run away, look at the previous Warner release (Inception, Sherlock Holmes etc) And I also think there will be a future release in UK as well.

A lot cheaper too.

I tend to agree, these are odds-on to be released in the UK at some point making it pointless importing them, unless the quality of the finish is higher on these Japan ones.

Do you guys get stung by customs a lot with steelbooks? Ive ordered stuff from the US and Australia multiple times in the past and have yet to get whacked with a fee?

Tbh it depends who you ordered from, how they declare the shipment, and how lucky you are or aren't! I can tell you this though: just as you think you won't ever get hit with charges - BAM - it happens. So you can't really count 100% on anything (unless it's a non-commercial shipment).

haha Yeah i've probably got it coming then seeing as I have got away without getting charged for years. Might risk it anyway, is it around £40 or something that you get charged?

Anything over £15 in value is subject to import VAT (£40 for a gift shipment).

The way you have to look at it is that when you DO finally get charged, it's only a small penalty when counted against all those times you escaped it. ;)

Only issue is with JSDVD who have now given options on how to mark parcel at the time of paying shipping fee. Rest were okay with me till date.

That's what I thought mate until my latest Kimchidvd shipment spent 8 days (and still counting...!) in customs. HMRC are really hot on Asian shipments now, make no mistake.
