note to myself.......
get permission from other forum members before cancelling orders in the future........

It was a general comment.
All I see is comments about how Zavvi mess up peoples order and they have terrible customer service etc and this seems to be one way of making sure a fellow ninja gets a steelbook that they missed and no one helps them.

buying steelbooks from zavvi is always a little worrying due to their questionable packaging, plus their customer service with regards to the last item i purchased from them highlighted for me just how poor it is compared to places like amazon. nothing new to announce, i know, as this seems to be common knowledge, but it was enough to make me cancel all my preorders and move to amazon.......

This is the exact reason why zavvi releases do poorly on the reseller market. Trust has been lost. I mean it crazy when you have 50% of your beautiful Cinderella with spine cuts. I am not talking small numbers of 2 or 4. I am talking dozens. When it can be viewed by one person its a major problem. Half my copies are damaged. Same thing with Bambi and Brave. 50% damage with spine cuts. Pathetic!!!!!
I guess the only good thing about all this is the print run for mint copies has just been halved overnight. So I guess this means each have only 2000 mint copies. Guess the Mint ones just gained in value.

They need ship the steels with a hard uncuttable plastic on the top so when they box cutter it open it just touches the hard plastic. Not that much extra solution involved to save a rare steelbook collectable from the dreaded box cutter.

Phew after my 4th attempt finally got a spine slash free copy of this (as I ordered 2 copies), so there are damaged free ones still available.

I also heard some Ninja's say that sometimes the seal is intact yet underneath the seal the spine has been cut How does that occur before it's shrink wrapped?

It's pretty bad to read about this on-going issue and I feel sorry for Ninja's with damaged copies. My Robocop remastered steel came with 2 very faint horizontal spine cuts luckily they're quite hard to make out so I kept it.

Chip, ugh, sorry to hear that. Contact customer service? I know folks have been getting different responses for different situations, but I am guessing that is your only option here. Good luck!

Zavvi have been flat out ignoring my queries regarding two spine-slashes steelbooks. So sick of this, putting everything on hold until I receive a computerised email!

I know this is off topic, but just felt like I needed to say that. ;)

I could never understand their thinking on international shipping costs. When I order from abroad I expect to pay more for shipping and I think anyone would find it reasonable to do so. So why Zavvi don't do as lgans says is quite baffling.

Hopefully some will come back in stock. Would really like this one.

+1, waiting if some might come back in stock, like others did but so far nothing. This and Stargate and maybe Mars Attack was the one I missed out when it went live. I have many pre-orders from Zavvi that I thought I slow a bit so when these went live I kind a ignored it. Now I'm kicking myself for not doing it.
