Value Guide for Buyers & Traders

Steelbook Value Advice

Hi all, I hope it's ok to ask this here.

Due to lack of space and money, I'm having to sell some of my steelbooks:(.
I was wondering if someone could tell me what a reasonable price for the following steelbooks would be.

HMV Avengers
Play.com Battle Royale
Play.com Incredible Hulk
Play.com Iron man
Play.com Iron man 2
ES Jack reacher (one with scratch on spine, one with paint chips on title)
Play.com Oldboy, relatively large tear on cellophane
Amazon UK Skyfall
Play.com Terminator

All are sealed, any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance:thumbs:

Iron Man sealed is selling for around £55 at the moment on eBay UK. So if you're using that as a guide, minus PayPal fees say about £50. Terminator is closer to the £40 mark but you won't have trouble shifting either.
For the play.com exclusives, offer international shipping if you're comfortable with that, since overseas collectors couldn't just order them from the retailer direct. :)

ES Jack Reacher has dropped significantly recently, so if you can afford to hold out a bit, hang on until the other ES exclusives come out and collectors looking for the set may drive the value up a bit :)

Hope this helps a bit. I'm currently helping a non-collecting mate shift some steels on eBay for some quick cash.

The funny thing is.. it's relatively hard to sell here. I've offered some of my items at cheaper than ebay prices, but then get laughed at as it's "too expensive"....

I love this place for trades. It's brilliant. But just sell on eBay really. Saying that, I don't really sell anyway.
You might have more luck shifting Oldboy if you bundle it with Battle Royale btw.

Didn't think of that, thanks.

Would you say it's better to auction or use but it now?

The difference is, we're all collectors here. We know how much we love these damn things, so it's not too surprising to think most people find ebay prices (or even prices close to that) too high.

Just today, i received The Raid UK and Act of Valor FS, which i got from one guy for $90 shipped. If i go to ebay, i'd be able to buy Act of Valor with about one cent to spare. Did he make "some" money on the sale? I sure hope so. Did he make the "scalper" kind of money? He sure didn't, but he could have, if he wanted to.

If people here think your prices are too high, especially the more experienced people whom have been trading for a long time, your prices are just too high. It's not like they're trying to insult you, it's just that they know how to value these things on a collector's level, not on a "money making" level.

Together. You don't want to be stuck with just the second one.

Also, i'm not sure what Oldboy has to do with Battle Royale. One is Korean, the other is Japanese. Don't sell them together simply because both films are Asian. You also have to consider the fact that many people already have one, or the other...so selling them separately is most definitely the smarter thing to do.

Thanks, one last question (I promise:D), do you think I should sell Iron Man 1 and 2 together or separately?

Ask as much as you want :) I'd probably sell them separately. Can imagine you getting a few more quid, especially if the right person is after both. Maybe just note on the listing that you can combine deliveries.
