There are some G1's that have some value. Not speaking specifically to this one, because I don't know, but there are some out there that hold and gain value.

The Little Mermaid G1 steelbook was a Futureshop exclusive steelbook (one of their first).. It was given out with the purchase of The Little Mermaid in 2007 I believe.. As to value there is an almost identical version from Italy that is the same other than writing language and it brings about $100.. That said I'm really not sure on this one, but I'm guessing that $300 is a little over the top, even being that rare..
I'd recommend just keeping an eye out for it.. it's always possible to get lucky like the winner of this auction..

Can anyone tell me anything about this steel? Apparently, about 5 years ago, it was given out at future shop to very few. Like each store had 1-2. Supposed to be super exclusive. I don't own it, but might be looking to purchase. Can anyone tell me anything about it? Most importantly if it's a legitimate steel or not? Any help would be much appreciated! The guy who owns it, wants $300 for it, claiming it's worth AT LEAST DOUBLE that...
Sounds like socretes to me. He claims everything is shooting to the moon to this date while prices are falling.
Oh I agree Chip.. Just to clarify, I had said $150 is the absolute cheapest I've seen.. More commonly it is $175-$200 range..
Been offered one of these, new for £34 - Iron Man 3 (3D+2D Blu-ray SteelBook) [Hong Kong] - any good ?
This is a tough one to come by these days. Open mint goes for about $80-$90. A fair price for a new sealed copy is around $140-$160. On ebay the best I've seen in a few months is around $180-$200. Hopes this helps.

Jack Reacher ES, both batches go for around cost price £25/£30
As to Iron Man MM used, mint in the $150 area so I'd guess $170+ or so sealed..
Apollon is about dead on from what I've seen.. New and sealed it's worth $100 give or take..
Terminator Salvation= $300 +/- if sealed mint FS version..

Agreed. I think 300 is a bit high. I feel like there's less and less people willing to spend the big bucks these days 
Market saturation - price drop is the natural consequence of floating the market with too many titles to sock and awe the collectors. Studios don't get a cent from secondary sales so the more they sell (first releases or re-releases), the less money consumers will have available for older, higher value titles in the secondary markets. Consumers "fight" back by being disciplined and not bite into every release and be truly selective towards the higher quality releases.
