Was thinking about this the other day. My thoughts too and I hope they do.
Paraphrasing Cameron:
"The Avatar sequels will be released ONLY in 3D on home video."
If you think about it - the resurgence of 3D was largely Cameron's doing - and he is not letting it go without a fight.
He is putting the screws to them with the Avatar sequels.

I don't have to worry about it. I'll be dead by the time they come out.

Can you please name some titles? As far as I know nothing is being released in Canada. I could be wrong.
Not natively in the U.S. or Canada - but Zavvi, Kimchi, Nova, Hdzeta, Blufans, etc. have all been releasing 3D titles.
I just got Kimchi Avengers Infinity War 3D from Kimchi, and expect another 3D edition from Blufans.

The latest titles right now are:
  • Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom 3D
  • Ready Player One 3D
  • Pacific Rim Uprising 3D
and those are Canadian releases which is where your from.

Ok you're right. I guess I just never noticed. We haven't had any 3D steelbooks in awhile. I don't think Disney has been releasing 3D here though. No Solo or Marvel movies.

I thought he just meant in general, I was including steelbooks.
No, in general there are plenty.Spiderman Homecoming 3D, Justice League 3D, Thor Ragnarok 3D, Wonder Woman 3D, Batman Vs. Superman 3D, Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2 3D, Beauty and The Beast 3D, Blade Runner 2049 3D, Ghost in The Shell 3D, etc.....
They are there!

I did but I just named off the very first three that popped into my head.

We're getting Skyscraper in 3D. Sorry to take the thread off topic.

I saw this in IMAX yesterday, 2D, so didn't realise there was a 3D release of this. If that is the case, then it's a shame another one is being ignored for blu-ray.

I certainly won't buy the non 3D versions, so they just won't get my money.

BTW I enjoyed the film, starts a bit slowly and I think it could have been a 12A. Seen a lot worse in the Jurassic films!!!

I don't wanna jinx it - but I am actually surprised that they DO keep releasing 3D discs despite the lack of 3D TVs on the market!
They MUST sell very well. (I know they do in Asia).

I know you would have thought that the trend would have slowed down a bit but it hasn't. It's probably just because soooo many people have 3D sets already.

Yeah so I don't understand that. If 3D blu-rays are big in Asia, and Asia is where TV's are made...why aren't they still making 3D TV's?

Well, before you curse their names and refuse to buy the 2D - keep in mind that some films rush the 3D conversion as an afterthought- and the 3D isn't even good enough to warrant a release in 3D. I'm not talking about the backalley German Macbook pro 3D conversions that give you a migraine - but some "afterthought" conversions are so mild that the 3D isn't even noticeable.
If it's good 3D, I want a blu ray. But if it's a terrible 3D job, I don't care if it gets a 3D blu ray.

I know a few people who are hoping to snag one of the 2016/2017 Flagship Sony Z9D 3D TVs before they are all gone.
I freaking love mine, and got one for my folks too. Greatest TV I have ever owned! :D
