Red or orange, that fullslip is close to a bullseye - it's hard to go wrong with the iconic poster art. Would it make me want to pay the premium price for the release? Not really.

The slip is safe and predictable--which sometimes is exactly the right choice. :)

I think there's a @virkia around here somewhere who may have something to say about the red vs. orange issue...

I would love to have Hitchcock´s great films in premium editions, but not with FUGLY WWA steels inside which you can grab later alone in bin for 5 euro. But that bloody slip is frikin gorgeous :oohyeah: but geez that abomination inside o_OEEK!:vomit:....on the other hand steel can be always changed so I will probably get this anyway

Might as well print the blue banner across the top of the front cover and throw a bunch of text onto the back cover. :)

I think @Noodles's account has been hacked. ;)

i just hope they dont release the booklet with a rear window image inside, that would frek me out. as for the slip, almost perfect ! could be another softer tone of red tho, more like the original poster, its too bloody dark

Black Barons are aware of the mistake they acknowledged the mistake in a reply on facebook
I would assume they will correct it

Slip: Perfect classic image and the right colour to go with this interesting steelbook although could've been just as good/original in pale blue, lilac, yellow or green ... better to pick up on the colours of the floating "quavers".

This poster of course considered to be THE poster for VERTIGO and which surprisingly happens to be the only Saul Bass poster used for a Hitchcock film ...

Only thing I'd have different for this slip would be the spine title arrangement - vertical not sideways print

Yes, same slipcase design has been used before - only in orange instead of red ... just last year in fact ... but instead with a Criterion style Scanavo case and not with a steelbook ... from World Cinema Library:-

World Cinema Library ... with same Scanavo cases used for Criterion etc. Blu-rays with taller artwork capacity than Amarays.

. . . more WCL Hitchcock followed ... including THE BIRDS, PSYCHO, REAR WINDOW and THE MAN WHO KNEW TOO MUCH (remake):-

The booklet's image is from Rear Window with Grace Kelly

lol I personally always liked the connective tissue between both movies.. I like to think of Midge and her career (fashion designer) as the next logical step in the compromise in lifestyles made between Lisa and Jeff at the end of Rear Window. After his legs healed he's fully developed a taste for detective work. Then he gets fed up with the 'new' Lisa and starts chasing another blonde model. Just don't ask me how Shep and Gil in Bell, Book and Candle fit in.. I haven't stretched things that far yet.

Is this red then or orange as it should be? :watch:

If those World Cinema Library slipcovers fit steelbooks, I need you to just not tell me, okay? :) Those are really nice, and I don't need one more fancy-shmancy thing to collect. Could we get their design team over to one of the steelbook retailers?

I snagged one of these but I hope they opt for different art for the steelbook at the last minute. If they don't, well, I'll still end up with a lovely slip.
