Just some fun to see which of the Amazon JP's you'll be adding? See separate threads for discussion pertaining to each title.

Got my shipment yesterday from Amazon packed very well no damage....Gran Torino and Seven are really nice looking...actually all are nice but those two stand out to me...always been a clint eastwood fan... and Seven is a classic...

Congrats my friend! :scat:
A lot of people will wonder for a long time how you did manage to get that many ;)

Thank you my friend. Only doing this to help out members here and not for personal gain, just for the satisfaction from knowing I have helped my fellow collectors.

And if they'd browsed this site long and deep enough, they would have known how I did it :D

Sorry to hear that man, got a small ding on my Gran Torino, emailed them for a replacement and a new one is shipped out today, excellent service, will just need to return damaged steelbook and if I get hit by customs upon receiving the replacement package I only need to send them a proof of payment and they will reimburse me :scat:
Did you get hit by customs? Still undecided whether to get any of these or not.

A follow up to my earlier post for a couple of observations:
- the "white" steelbooks are still the most popular in this wave;
- the quality of these JP steelbooks is still the best globally. I won't say how many were shipped to me (those in the picture below are only a small sample) but there is not a single steelbook with any kind of "defect" less one with a small tear in the shrink wrap. Consider this - I did not pick any one of them myself. So kudos to Amazon.JP! Well done!

I was wondering if The Dark Knight and Batman Begins have a more of a metallic image on them like the Inception steel or are do they have more of a flat look Thanks!

My take on these

I only bought BB, TDK and Seven and even though I like them all, I'm still not quite sure what all the fuzz was/is about! I paid 115€ for these 3 incl. postage and another 20€ for customs, which adds up to 45€ a pop for a newly released (and from what I can tell not very limited) steelbook and I think it is too much for these. I mean, check out that beautiful debossed French BB/TDK steelbook - this one cost 16,99€ for months and I at least expected these Japanese ones to be a bit..."more exclusive". Not re-selling them or anything, just not as excited about these as I thought I'd be (back in early December 2011)...

Lutz, the hype was unintentional I believe simply because they were marketed as an exclusive to Amazon.JP and now we know 6 of them are truly worldwide exclusive (except for Gran Torino, 2001, Shawshank and Sherlock Holmes). The problem here is the delay which allowed other newer titles to supersede our anticipation of these steelbooks. Nonetheless, personally I believe this wave will gain "value" over time sans the embossing and glossy finish. Look at some of the older "limited" titles like Halloween, Zombieland, FS Inglourious Basterds and Angels and Demons.

Sherlock Holmes is a worldwide exclusive too, Japan is the only country with that artwork on steelbook

I want to order to Poland four steelbooks from this wave, but I see that packaging on amazon.jp is not perfect too, because some of you here wrote that they received damaged steelbooks. So please tell me if I chose shipping with Gift-wrap option for each steelbook (286¥ for each 1) this I will have greater certainty that steelbooks will not be damage, then they use more of the bubble wrap or they only use simply paper, so does not make sense to pay extra for this? And if this package will be a gift and I also tick "Do not print prices on packing" option then I will have additional problems with customs, or maybe then will be more probability that i will not have to pay any customs duty? I have never use this "gift" option so i would be grateful for any information about this ;)

I voted for all the white ones plus Inception. I actually already bought and got Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, which were my top priority, but now it's Inception of course.

So did anyone who ordered from the UK manage to avoid getting hit with a customs charge? I know HMV Japan orders always get hit, but heard Amazon sometimes slip through.

I just ordered six of them to deliver to the UK. Fingers crossed I don't get hit with the customs. If I do it be extra £50! The average SB will be over £34.

Just changed my order, made it seven steelies.

They are Matrix, Batman, TDK, 7, Blade, Sherlock, and Inception. I'm going to have to sell some steels to make up for these :)

They all look awesome and certainly IMO the best waves of steelies released in one go.

Unfortunately it's highly highly likely that you will be hit with customs.

As Amazon Japan always send abroad only via external courier and NOT via regular airmail, I think it's probably impossible to avoid customs.

Received my 8 steels today in a box which was opened, no bubble wrapping, lol, and they all came dent freeEEK!. I am amazed. Unfortunately, one of the SB has a small patch of missing paintwork which I have requested to return for a replacement.

Custom charges came to £42 of a price of £202 which I paid for. So it is pretty much 20% VAT I have to pay for the charges to deliver to UK. Works out at £30.50 per SB which isn't too bad for these limited editions.

Good thing it was DHL delivery because they charged a fee of £1.25 because Royal Mail will charge anything over £10 - £13.50 for something like this!

I ordered 5 of the White releases they came in a large box with no bubble wrap. I could hear them inside the box moving all over the place but they arrived dint free thank God.
Thumbs down on the Amazon Jp packaging for me.
