Which versions is worth more mint/sealed.
Best buy or futureshop because my futureshop is still like new

If it is no longer shrink wrapped, the copies I have seen unsealed even though Mint OCD they still didn't sell for much.

The both Best Buy and Future Shop that sold that were OCD Mint Still Sealed best buy sold for 120 and FS sold for 170(English J-Card)

but then again it all depends who is looking for what, you never know.

I think it's pretty interchangeable - unless you have the backing cards still, not many people would know the difference between the two of them.

Some completist collectors were after the versions with French backing cards from Future Shop for a while because they were more "rare".

But either way, I don't think it matters much today which version you have.

I don't like the bilingual version, they simply write twice the description and you end up with such a small written j-card that you can barely read... I used to order from amazon.ca but almost all(some exception) have bilingual covers and some title can be very corny when translated and some don't even make sense. That is why I started buying from amazon.com and most of the time even with the duty copies end up cheaper or same price. But bilingual copies you can barely read, if it would be ALL in french I would say OK this can be appealing for certain but when they squish both english and frensh I don't like it, it's messy, I prefer the cleaner j-card english one, looks nicer I find(I'm referring to Future Shop j-cards)

Last one (FS) sold on eBay for $197.

The previous one that sold on eBay had a BB price tag of $34.99 and it went for $187. In March, a seller sold 2 for $150 & 170 respectively (no longer available to display)

The DE version is the cheapest. Last one I saw sell at regular auction format was for $24.50:

Here are some recent sales including both new & used:

Overall, this the BB/FS version are in high demand for steel collectors, hence the premium price. I was able to get mine from HDN sales thread so I'll recommend perusing through for best prices.

Found mine in the trade/sale section here opened but in mint/mintish condition.

Just have to figure out how to get it shipped over here as a shitload of steels have found a new home at mlmaier84 and they just keep getting piled up! :)

Welcome to HDN greatergardens!

Depending on the marketplace, a Wall-E steelbook will be more expensive than it used to be.

It's retail price from Best Buy was around $35, and that was when it wasn't on sale - and other marketplaces are very high.

My suggestion would be to look into a steelbook like this one, that will not set you back as much.

Or you could simply wait, I would imagine that some other retailer would release this steelbook soon in another region.

Thanks for the info much appreciated:thumbs:

After seeing all the pics here I have to get a copy of this, hopefully one will turn up on eBay soon!

Just received Ratatouille and A bugs life (Best Buy) blown away with how nice these look..I won't be happy until I have a copy of this sat next to them!

IMO the early Canadian releases blow all the current releases away. Look at Wall.e, A Bug's Life, Ratatouille and the Pirates series. Beautiful design, colors and print, both outside and inside. Extras are fine but people forget the steelbook comes first, not fancy slipcovers. :)

But now Blufans might replace Gravity due to some issue with Wall-E(Rumoured), that would be sweet even though though not FS Blufans would make a nice Steel out of it.

Just look at @RomanCH's pictures to get a sense of what true beauties these first generation SteelBooks are - clean but meaningful design with intense colors for both outside and inside artwork. This Best Buy set of Disney SteelBooks is truly a collectible set for the ages. Don't miss them if you can afford it!

I sold this in anticipation for the Blufans steelbook.....The only really regretful move in my steelbook collecting endeavors. I want my NA Wall-E back!:oops::arghh::arghh::arghh:

This is my favourite steelbook that I own, and it happens to be my favourite animated (non-Studio Ghibli) film.
I keep this one well protected! Holy Grail of steels! :)

I bought mine on ebay for 200.50$ and it is worth every penny, got a truly OCD copy absolutely Flawless from a collector that knows how to keep his steel OCD, I also got A Bugs Life, Prince Of Persia from FutureShop Exclusive all in Perfect OCD. That was a catching up on missing releases but I believe they are the best one out there the Future Shop ones are simply just exquisitely Classic

Still the best steelbook for this film by far, IMO.
