So the general consensus seems to be disappointment? I will reserve judgement until I get the steelbook in my hands. The pics look fine to me but the real test will be when you can actually touch it. It would've been nice for gloss but hey, what can you do.

i'm not english, sorry i don't know the accurate term, but there 's a "metallic/shining" aspect on the steel(at least one part of the front), i don't like it
i surrended the part where it is the most visible

this plus the non glossy finish is really not great at all for me

I love the packaging as a whole but the finish on the steel is a let down, see what zavvi has to offer next.

The matte finish is disappointing. The strange thing looking at pics is that there seems to be some stretching marks on the corners. I thought this only happened with gloss?

What exactly happened to this steelbook ,I mean ,did it undergo some form of processing to make it ready to be glossed ? Could it be that what is causing the sheen is some half way house effect ,may explain the shimmering that gaeljet is talking about

I'm not sure how they got the end product, I know the gloss finish didn't work so they went with something different. It does appear to have some kind of metallic effect, it doesn't look to be a standard matte.

I prefer the Lenti myself but I usually go for the Lentis so I am biased!

You can keep it sealed and buy the Zavvi version (gloss) and open it
