does your mint copy happen to have a bunch of scratches under joe's left arm on the front, cuz I read that's meant to be a manufacturing problem with this release and that's what I had wrong with mine when I got it but thought I just unluckily got a scratched copy, I counted lots of them and I only just found out this could be a problem with all the steelbooks so that sux if so.

Got my one copy from amazon.de and it seems to be mint:oohyeah:
Will sent back the really dented amazon.es copy to amazon.de tomorrow;)

My unseald copy from amazon.es has these scratches you mentioned but the copy I got today from amazon.de doesn't have the scratches:D
So it seems not every copy has the scratches;)

that is strange, I'm glad I ordered more than one copy, I should get mine tomorrow:thumbs:

I got one of my copies with a huge slash mark down the front and also the bunch of scratches that goes under and through joe's shoulder, so it def looks like a manufacturing problem with this release, seems strange how only some have it though.

received mine today and unfortunately it has the scratches on and under Joel Edgerton's shoulder but it's not too visible so i might keep it and ask for a partial refund instead of a replacement which might have the same issue

They aren't scratches , nor are the scratches at the back of the steelbook near the bottom that people are talking about scratches - it's the actual original artwork , poor quality resolution in a dimly lit setting it may be but it is not a fault. It is on every copy. (I have seen 17 so far and all are identical)

It's a black and white photo taken in a harsh dark setting , close up with flash and the grey smudges etc around Joel Edgerton's shoulder are entirely meant to be there, a product of bleed from the photograph between the white flash, outline of the body and the pitch black surrounding.

If you look very closely at the steelbook to the left of Tom Hardy's ear , you will see the same "grey bleed" effect on the steel as well.

They could have photoshopped it and inked it in jet black like they have for the silhouette around Tom Hardy's body but they haven't for some reason. Maybe they liked the contrast with Joel being the rougher of the two brothers in the film.

I have to disagree, had two copies with those scratches and it's definitive not the original artwork cause I have one copy without those scratches;)
No way this was intended, quality in general of this steelbook is really good. But if you have the scratches they are unfortunately really visible. Most of the copies have the scratches but it seems not all of them.

.

Well then we will have to agree to disagree ;)

Whatever you think they are , they are not scratches. Scratches are cuts through the actual metal caused by a sharp object or a knife.

The actual artwork on the Amazon Germany product page has the exact same marks/smudges/bleed etc that we are talking about. If you mouse hover over the photo of the steelbook they can be seen very clearly.

A more extreme example of this black and white harsh photo art is seen on Eraserhead -

I think we talk at cross-purposes...
The scratches I mean you can even see on the hdn picture of the actual steelbook in the first post. I tried to increase the spot and mark the scratches.

Are we talking about the same thing?:D
