Stupid topic I know but on the school run this morning I realized that in the School playground before the bell went, more parents were checking thire phones instead of thire wrists for the time.

So Is the Wristwatch becoming the next but of old world technology going to become extinct?.

Sticking a poll on so have some fun.

This is my watch I need analog as well as digital as I cannot tell the time Dyslexia and watches sometimes do not mix.

Dual display is the best for me .
I have no other watch so even IF we go somewhere up market this is what I wear if nobody likes it it is thire problem NOT Mine !. snow 049.jpg

I've tried wearing watches but 1) they get caught on the hair on my wrista 2) my wrists are very small and the bone sticks out so its rather uncomfortable having something that big on my wrists. No Im not going to wear a womens or childrens watch to make it easier. It's hard enough for me to wear my wedding ring which I don't most of the time but that has more to do with health problems then just being uncomfortable.

Got somewhere between 20 and 30 watches. Also wear my watch on my right wrist and am right handed. I occasionally wear 2 watches, 1 on each wrist (yes, I know that's weird)

Anyway, my wife got me this for my 40th and I've not worn another since

That's nice. I used to be an Omega guy but I'm now in the dark side aka Rolex (if my screen name and avatar aren't obvious enough :D). So far I got a white Daytona and a black Sub. My next one will probably be a DJII with a silver dial, stick markers and fluted bezel.

Congrats Rick! It Looks good!
If i ever have the money i will get a Breitling Colt Ocean. I saw a Breitling at the jeweller's when i was a kid and i allways wanted one ever since. If they just weren´t that damn expensice. Even a used one costs a fortune!
As long as i don´t have that much money i will stay faithfull to my D&G.

I only just discovered this little thread so apologies for digging this up :p

I'm very much a watch wearer and just love shopping for watches with different complications.
Have about a dozen mechanical timepieces that I rotate throughout the week - normally leather strap watches with a suit at work and switching to steel bracelet ones with casual wear during the w/e.
My favourite brand of watches are Jaeger LeCoultre

I was a watch wearer (and always analogue, I don't really like digital) until my last one stopped working over a year ago. I just haven't bought one since and can't really be bothered now, I use my phone if I need the time.

I put my TechnoMarine down about a month ago and never put it back on. Idk I just didn't feel like putting it back on for some reason.

I use my iPhone 5s so freaking much that it just became more convenient to look at it instead. Even when I was wearing my watch I was still using my iPhone more to tell time.

It's weird how that is.

I have 2 watches, a Timberland one with a rubber strap that i use for work that i bought out here in Saudi and an Omega that I got years ago thats at home. I only use the Omega when I go out.

Its interesting to hear that ppl consider watches as no more than are just a item to tell the time. For me I very much consider a watch as part of my everyday wardrobe.
I work fairly long hours most days of the week and in the end I like to spend money on something very nice (and expensive :p)

Just got my new watch in today. I still have my diving watch, I won't get rid of it. I decided to go tactical all-black. The Suunto Core All-Black Military. Suunto are renown for their bad ass compasses which in fact this watch has one as well. Me likes a lot. It's very light weight too which is completely opposite compared to my diving watch. That's because on a diving watch, the deeper it can go the thicker the bezel has to be therefore making the overall weight more.
