And here i was, naively hoping this release was going be something special, like the UK finally getting the epic 215 minute long Ultimate Cut of the movie

...anyway, is the FS version the 2 disc or single disc version of the Director's Cut?

FS version 3 disks. 2 blurays (1 movie, 1 special features) + a digital copy. And yes, the FS version is the directors cut. I don't if anyone cares, but these are rapidly going up in value. That Socrates guy just sold another for a BIN price of $175 lol. Count yourself blessed if you can get this for around $100. I cannot believe I paid $160 for 4 sealed copies not one year ago lol.

That's the version I really want too, I have the FS directors cut steelbook as well as the US lenticular slip version but the normal Ultimate cut goes for silly money :(

wow. FS version is the version to buy then for Watchmen Fans who don't want to pay crazy money for the 5-disc Ultimate Collectors Edition.

the 5 disc set is the DVD. the Bluray edition is 4 disc FYI. i think the additional disc on the DVD set is the UC split over 2 discs

Disc 1 - Ultimate Cut Movie
Disc 2 - Special Features
Disc 3 - Digital Copy of Theatrical Cut
Disc 4 - the complete motion comic

I'm quite content with my US BD of the Director's Cut with lenticluar slip (DC trumped over the TC) and my SIGNED Ultimate Edition (signed by Zack Synder when he promoting Sucker Punch in the UK)

got my poster signed as well. the other signature is Dave Gibbons. co-reator of the comic

you should see my Absolute Edition of Watchmen signed by Alan Moore, Dave Gibbons and John Higgins (pics on my facebook page)

Maybe UK gets it on like the 30th anniversary or something :tear:

Wow that's awesome

I'd be happy with just a steelbook of the ultimate cut just with 3 discs - they could bin the digi-copy of the TC.

As for the 5 disc DVD version I think it's the Ultimate Cut movie that's on one disc but the motion comic is split over two.

That sounds about right, we always get stuffed :(

Don't get me wrong-I'm not knocking them, because I think Play.com have done an awesome job with their new Steelbooks. But I think we will only be getting the bare bones releases of the movies included.

I've just sold my 2 disc special edition copies of Forrest Gump and Saving Pvt Ryan to make funds to buy Play's new Steelbook versions. But I don't think either of Play's new releases of these will even be two disc editions :(

Unfortunately, I highly doubt a second disc will be included with this new Watchmen let alone a Directors cut of the movie :(

I'm really liking it but the reality is it depends on the release date. Seems like everyone is trying to bunch releases in October and as it stands, I don't know if I can keep adding to that list.

i have to agree. i can't afford to keep on adding to the list myself but with this release i will be replacing it with another pre-order i had.

this really is a beauty :scat:
