basically because there are people posting on here in this very thread other than me mentioning paint chips and at AVforums saying the same thing - mostly small chips though not as extreme as mine (yet) but hell, they shouldn't have any chips at all - War Of The Worlds is also chipped to hell.

Slighty peeved, Play.com didn't send me my spare copy - even though it states it in the paperwork.

Has anyone had this happen to them? I've already contacted them to explain whats gone on. Guess I'll get a refund now instead of a replacement :/

well if they are both sealed then you can't say they are in perfect condition .

You've seen what mine looks like - that was in perfect condition as well until I took the wrapper and Cardboard Info sleeve off.

Wow, tough break on your SB. I'm hoping thats not case for the everybody and it's just a few that slipped through the production line in that condition. I already have mine on order through a GB here so hopefully everything turns out positive.

Sounds like the driver has knocked off early and the secure location is his front room. Weekend viewing sorted for him.

This is a gorgeous steelbook... looks even better in hand!

Mine arrived with two minor paint chips to the top and bottom left corners on the front, but I'm sure it's nothing a Sharpie won't disguise. It pains me to see that some people received there's with major paintwork issues though.

Mine has arrived pretty much mint (although there is the tiniest scratch on the spine, nothing serious though). However, War of The Worlds (which is for a friend of mine in the US) looked mint, until I opened it.

The back is trashed! Seriously looks like it's been brushed along on the floor or something. I'll post a pic later in the relevant thread.


Extremely happy with this one. The matte finish is superb, nice and thick with a nice shine. This is how matte should be handled (Fox should take note!). Love how they made the smiley glossy, nice touch indeed.

Well luckily mine are mint, very happy with plays packaging, even the little foam divide between the two.

Just got mine, very impressed with this one. I was worried about the matte finish but it looks good with the glossy characters over it!
