Based on what I've been seeing lately, I can't help but wonder why is it that sellers wait for the buyer to submit a feedback first for any given transaction before they submit theirs...

The way I see it, as a buyer, as soon as I've made my payment, I have fulfilled my end of the deal and the seller should submit his/her feedback, simple as that.

At the latest, they should do so once the package has been received and notified. I shouldn't have to chase them and remind them to do so

Agree? Disagree? Discuss.

N.B: interested in discussing transactions done through this website only please :)

Of course if the buyer does leave feedback and the seller doesn't bother to, then you have a right to feel aggrieved as a buyer.

Exactly what pushed me to start this thread

It is still helpful to have the feedback from both sides. If somebody says they will buy something and then wants to send it back because its not what they wanted or its damaged, that may be a one off. If they did this multiple times then eventually it would reflect in their feedback. Its the same with group Buys, non payers sometimes get negative feedback and that helps sellers decide whether they want to sell to an individual or not.
