This can be impossible to predict but with small print runs and many major Steelbook giants like Play & HMV going down maybe you're holding the next Holy Grail right now. So which one of the recent Steelbooks do you predict being the next Holy Grail's?

I think any Marvel steel books are going to rise in price-Thor & Captain America are going for crazy prices on Ebay-potential releases this year?

Iron Man 3, Man of Steel and Pacific Rim

don't really agree with Lawless-but then it has the 2 & a half words that ruin every film-(Shia LeBouef) & judging by today.s news HMV's website may be up and running again soon...

in agreement with most of the people on here-I usually only buy 1 copy if it's something I really want-buy 2 copies to sell if I only want to cover costs, if I think it will sell and usually sell at a reasonable price:D

I reckon roger rabbit has potentional, any marvel films, iron man and thor, captain america!
The new t2 korea- that looks holy grail material!

I think T2 Korea got the potential to be a grail...

Nice Artwork
Embossed Steel
Embossed Slip
Asian Release
Limited to 1500
One of the greatest Movies

And all Marvel Steels are increasing in value

T2 is a lovely steel but why hype an item we have yet to see? How about just letting the secondary markets decide. Seems to me so many will be released in other regions so many choices to choose from. Let's look at all the warner releases and re releases.

I m not hyping. This is my honest opinion. I m sharing my opinion whilst members still hv a chance to get it at retail prices. They are free to ignore my opinion.

Wreck it Ralph BluFans?

If this will be the only steelbook edition for the movie I think there is a chance, but i doubt it.

It has potential. Deep down though I have a feeling this could appear somewhere else at some point. Hope not :ohno:

What about Metropolis steelbook ?

It's quite rare, but 99% of collector's don't really care about the movie, so it will always linger around the £70 mark. There is a new/sealed one on amazon.co.uk for £49.99 for about 2 months now with nobody biting... Great steelbook/film in my opinion, but it's no Marvel...

Just like roger rabbit and sky fall, jack reacher, there will be a peak around 50-60 pounds. No more. A while after release, prices will come down. Happened to sky fall and Roger has dipped a bit recently.

I think the difference with Sky Fall is that it is available worldwide and it was initially OOS, then went back in stock later which is where the prices dipped.

Roger Rabbit is 3k exclusive and not a worldwide release.

Roger Rabbit is the only title recently mentioned that has the potential to become a grail in my opinion. Three thousand copies is not many to share with collectors all around the World. If this doesn't become a grail, then i'm sure it will be the most valuable UK release given time. This of course is assuming Disney don't decide to release this everywhere else in the future.

Just a question? Has anything mentioned here materialised and become an actual grail? Seems to me any limited release is being mentioned with no proof whatsoever. Are we just clutching at straws? Roger has been selling on ebay US for about $50. Has it gone higher? YES But consistently in $50 range. Others yet to be released is just pure SPECULATION There have been many other exclusives that never became grails. So IMO being exclusive does not = Grail material. But then again many have a personal interest in HYPING stuff.

While I'll agree that hyping an item as "grail" for personal interest does exist around here, do keep in mind that this is a speculation thread, so theres nothing wrong with speculations. While all opinions are good, and should be respected, some are real head scratchers (for me anyways). ZDT?, WFRR?, maybe, but I definitely can't see it. I have a very narrow concrete definition of what a grail is, I don't toss that term around like a used piece of kleenex. To be grail for me, it must consistently sell for $500+. Anything else need not to apply.

As for my pick, Its gonna be a bit of the obvious. The Hobbit (SG) with the limited 100 slip. Yes, I got 4 of these, but its already selling for $150 - $200. When this ebay seller sells out, I think this title will disappear from the market. You just won't be able to buy this title, because no one is dumb enough to part with theirs. 3 good reasons for this to become grail:

1) Very attractive packaging
2) Blockbuster movie, very high fan base
3) Truly limited, I know this word gets thrown around alot, but in this case its an understatement.
