"Dick Tracy" same as Zavvi but with no embossing.
"The Rocketeer" same as Zavvi but no embossing.
"Who Framed Roger Rabbit" same as Zavvi but with no inside art, no embossing, and the front/spine titles in german.
"John Carter" original art, no embossing and inside art.
"The Rock" same as Play.

I wonder if John Carter was something Zavvi passed on.

John Carter
It was a massive flop in USA caused head of Walt Disney Studios to resign

It did better in Europe

With Film Budget $250 million and $100 million marketing campaign
Total Budget $350

Budget $350
Worldwide Box office $284,139

Film was a massive flop in Box Office
Outside of USA box office was $211,061,000
USA Box office was less than $80 Million

= my favorite movie released from that year. :scat:

I have seen a video unboxing

Its Not matte
Its a Full Gloss Finish

No embossing or debossing
German Writing on the Front

Its very close to Zavvi edition
But its not as good
It still looks nice but if you have the Zavvi version that's the best one

Without the debossing its not the same!!! Just as the Design was made for debossing :)
But good for people who dont wanna pay the higher price for the original ;)

Obviously, I wish their wasn't any German writing on the cover, but I love the nice clean centering of it all. Trading the embossing for some tiny German text seems like a fair trade for me to get rid of that intrusive "25th Anniversary" eyesore, especially since it still has the gloss finish (I don't mind matte, but red just needs gloss). Every time I look at it from the front my eyes go right to it. As long as my German one shows up in mint condition, it looks like I'll be giving my Zavvi one to a friend for their birthday. They would never spend the money to buy it on their own at current prices.

The German text is a killer!

I agree. If it were not for that I would actually prefer this over the Zavvi version. I HATE that "25th anniversary" on the Zavvi version and I hate even more what it does to to films title. If this did not have German text all over it I would replace my Zavvi version with it in an instant. I am not really a huge fan of the embossing either so I wouldn't be missing it at all.
