I queried how their system handles things at zavvi compared to how Play manually shut things off.

They choose a # and sell to that number and it turns off. In the case of RR they sold to 3k as they expect some cancellations ... This means its possible to come back in stock but more evident I think is that they use the cancellations to replace returns etc. So probably after all that is done if there is any left a few weeks after release then it might come back in stock for short time. But ultimately that could be a fat chance since they sold to 3k and say not ... 2,900 etc.

However some studios make you get like 100 more on your print run to handle such damages. ie. 4100 etc. So who knows. Maybe there is 3100.

Judging by Zavvi's current terrible packaging then they'll need to print at least an extra 1000 or so to cover for damaged steels

Blu-fair enough and understandable given the amount of damaged Steelbooks received through the mail with inadequate packaging-we've all experienced it. As usual, we'll post any updates.

Well I'm behind Zavvi all the way, they have obviously acknowledged some packaging problems, so good on them!

The only other thing would be to speed up delivery, and with Play.com about to go, they need to grab the opportunity with both hands.
