I'm a big fan of reluctant heroes, so I've always been partial to Bilbo:

I don't remember seeing that scene in theaters, though. Must've been in the extended cut!

That's a difficult question.

As a single character it would be for me Gandalf.

But I still prefer the combination of Gimli and Legolas.
