Another slightly more serious question. Is this community kinda hostile towards new members / slash collectors or do we just not have a high tolerance for newbie questions?

Extremely random question of the day time.

Ok so my favourite thing to do on a Friday night is have a movie night. Under ideal circumstances it starts with a good comedy, bourbon and some nice snacks and a decent frozen pizza. Maybe even like a nice IPA to go with the pizza. Then I usually like to transition to a good action movie and then maybe a drama before putting on something I can fall asleep to.

Anyone else got a good Friday ritual?
Friday Night Movie Night was always in the cards during my working years. Pizza and beer were typically on the menu. As well as the snack foods for movie time.

Now that I'm pretty much doing my thing when I want I can watch movies all the time. I do find I watch old horror classics almost predominently on Saturday mornings, if not only to get that childhood vibe of watching Creature Feature with Dr. Paul Bearer.

Yeah, I've just noticed that 3 out of 4 purchases are editions of movies I already have, because of the dire situation with new stuff these last 15 years, so I thought money would better be spent on even regular releases of films from the 80's and 90's, where I 'know' all the faces - growing up watching those actors' movies - and so even something average from those days brings much more joy.
That was a long sentence, I remember teachers telling me that in school.
I'm right there with you.

While I enjoy seeing new movies (No Way Home and Bone Tomahawk blew my mind), it is true that I feel a sense of comfort when I'm settling in to watch an old classic I've already seen countless times.

It would be correct to say that I'd be fine and dandy if Manta expanded to include a 'classics' division, seperate from the new release accumen we've all come to know and love and started putting out premiums of classics from the 70's and 80's. Let's face it. That Blade Runner looks fantastic, so those dudes clearly understand the importance and care these classic deserve.

Depends on my options but usually I plan to go the gym then watch a film whilst eating dinner.
What usually happens, I go the the gym later than planned which means I eat dinner later than planned amd fall asleep half way through whatever film I put on lol
You could just cut to the chase and find a copy of Moment by Moment. If you don't blow your brains out by the first hour you will definitely fall asleep from the coma this movie will put you in.

Like everything and everyplace in life you'll find differing attitudes.

Some folks are helpful to others. Some folks are not. Some folks actually derive joy from being negative and causing conflict, casting stones at those with less knowledge or poo pooing a contest like this one. Thankfully, Some folks are the polar opposite and will go out of their way to help others and would never dream of poo pooing such an incredible giveaway with multiple items..

I mean I wasn't even meaning me lol. Just looking at some threads and some people can be... Arseholes lol. Especially towards new members.

I haven't noticed that but I do have an inert ability to deflect elitism, especially when it's from those who clearly reside in the land of Assholio.

What I have noticed is that @Watkinss1 is doing an excellent job of employing my contest technique of replying to every post under the sun. Good job, bro. lol.

Yeah, sadly this is just an effect of the Internet where you will find some people like this on any forum or anything.
To quote Mike Tyson, people have gotten to comfortable with insulting others without getting smacked in the mouth.
Might not be word for word but you get the gist and it is true. Most of the people who act that way wouldn't do it to your face

Honestly, I enjoy the conversations had on these giveaways, the film tips, and of course, increasing my chances with every reply lol. But yeah, I learnt this one from the best lol.
Plus we have to reach that magic 100 pages so I feel we are doing a service at the same time, we are clearly just good people :)

Looking at that Iron Man figure made me wonder what, if any, collectibles my fellow ninja's might have.

I've mentioned before my extensive JAWS collection, which was featured in an issue of Horrorhound magazine! An excellent publication to be sure, but I also have a Necco B&W Wolfman with exchangable Larry Talbot head! And yes....it's still sealed. lol.

Also have some nice collectible screenplays for House of Frankenstein and Frankenstein Meets the Wolfman. Not to mention my extensive, and I do mean extensive, monster magazine collection, to include the run of Marvel/Curtis Planet of the Apes comic mags of the 70's.

It is absolutely amazing and this coming from a mega fan of Top Gun 1, it is better than the first one in every single way.
It was very good. A must watch for Top Gun fans. It didn’t beat the first movie, for me.

I loved the Goose and Iceman moments. The plot kind of reminded me of Iron Eagle II.

Tom Cruise is amazing, man. I haven't seen Maverick yet, but I'm confident I'm going to like it. His work with the Mission Impossible series is just mind blowingly awesome stuff.
