Not the best decision - the new artwork - with head looking "the wrong way" ("wrong way" as personally always prefer heads looking to the left on covers) - but maybe the steelbook can be saved with better choices for the inside and back (?)
The poster artwork for the original mock-up possibly rejected in the end because of its classical reference as well as for its similarity to the image used for HAIDER (an adaptation of Shakespeare's "Hamlet" from India).

2 choices for the inside:-
1) If this powerfully dramatic image could not be used for the front then maybe it can be used for the inside with the same image on the 3D disc (as on the DVD).

2) Copy of the Amaray art which I believe matches the disc art:-

For the back I'm sticking with this simple buy effective image:-

That inner is horrible...:/
But I dont mind the front and back. Its similar to DOFP, so its consistent.

Back same as one of the official posters but only as far as the border hieroglyphs are concerned . . . centre image different as can be seen.
Original poster designed by GRAVILLIS, INC (SOUTHPAW, 2 GUNS et al) from original artwork by JUSTIN ERICKSON.

Original poster has a parchment look to it which should hopefully be carried over to the steelbook which should have an off-white not cream and not grey colouring old paper look.
The best colouring for the background of this steelbook is as seen on the ISLAND OF LOST SOULS (Eureka - May 2012) front more than on any other U.K. steelbook and hopefully not metallic like THE WOLVERINE (Fox - HMV Excl. Nov. 2013) and a mass of others.
