The image with Bryan Singer's tweet announcing the release gives an indication of the new material - less 'added in' to increase the runtime, more an alternate version?

is the Rogue Cut getting a 3D release?

No.

Just like the extended cut of The Wolverine, only the theatrical version was converted to 3D so there'll be no 3D version for this one either as is common with extended versions, especially ones released by Fox.

I'm not keen on the artwork, but it seems to be the only poster designed for The Rogue Cut as shown by Bryan Singer yesterday I believe. It's on every home video release (albeit in red or blue variations) that I can find regardless of the country.

I hate it when they don't do a 3D of the extended editions. It's the same with Avatar - you can't ever own an "ultimate" version :(

It's looking like all releases be it a Steelbook or Amaray Blu-ray has this artwork
The Steelbook in Blue
The Amaray Blu-ray in Red

Other steelbook releases from other countries most likely will only be different by Slip/Lenti and Artcards extras as usual

I take a guess we won't see different Steelbook artwork till end of this year or most likely next year if that happens

As much as I want the extended cut, this artwork is a no-go for me. I'll wait and see if sthg else pops up along the way or I'll pick up the amaray at some point and stick the discs inside my Kimchi steel. :)

Why would Rogue...
be the one capable of sending wolverine back in time? I understand why kitty pride is able to do what she does, so why would Rogue be there? It's Rogue's ability to steal mutant powers and adopt mutant powers that would only make her relevant in the earlier timeline. Mystique can mimic appearances, but she cant mimic powers. That's why I assumed the Rogue cut wouldn't work, because she's too young to of been alive back in the late 60s and 70s.

I am just not feeling it for anything X-Men these days after that Adamantium Collection. More joy to those who are excited about this!

If 'Rogue Cut' means we lose Kitty (Ellen Page ) then count me out entirely.

EDIT: Although, just read an interesting theory...

The scene where Wolverine stabs Kitty while flailing wildly causes Rogue to materialise from..... Somewhere. Rogue takes Kitty's power which kills Kitty, and Rogue takes over as the time travel, mind-melt jobber.
