The standard release of the rouge cut Blu-ray is the same artwork but has red instead of blue

Ah I see and there is a pre-order, I did not check a while, I will leave this release until the price comes down to a reasonable price, then I will just use custom artwork to get rid of the same hideous artwork on the plastic keep case.

I like how people called them out on their Facebook post on this. Maybe we should just use their Facebook account to voice our concerns

I mean the thing is with their Facebook account is to show off products and make the site in general look good so people will want to buy things from that site but what they can't ignore is a lot of us filling their status's with legit negative comments over their poor decisions as of late. They might get worried that other non steelbook people will be put off by the comments and shop somewhere else.

Who knows but it's worth a shot. They obviously don't give a crap about this forum.

The comments on their facebook page are hilarious, they are being utterly destroyed by virtually everyone. About time too! "I had to join in too!" LOL!:naughty:

I just found out that this was the "Mystery Marvel Steelbook". I kinda wish it remained a mystery 'cuz I can't help but laugh every time I read a new comment here. It's kinda hard to take Wolverine seriously from this point forward. I mean seriously look at him! :hilarious:

What are they 'being called out' on?

If it's the artwork then that's a bit harsh. It's not like Zavvi has any say over it. This is just another poor decision by Fox following on from their dour looking Batman: The Movie (with a rubbish front and stuntmen on the inside), that God-awful range featuring Speed, The Day the Earth Stood Still and The Rocky Horror Picture Show and the re-release of Robocop (with a giant Robocop in a tiny street). As I said, this seems to be the one and only image Fox have created for The Rogue Cut as it appears on every announced release worldwide.

Again, with the 3D, it's not going to happen. Fox have (to my knowledge) never released an extended edition of anything in 3D that was post-converted, yet waste time with 3D conversions of Predator and I, Robot (go figure).

I really don't get the point of complaining about these things. Nothing's going to change Fox's mind. They stuck to their guns with those previous designs, just as Disney will with Ratatouille and Anchor Bay did with their Punisher (with the wrong skull and title font). Besides, aiming your complaints at the retailer is a waste of effort. All you can do is complain to the studios and keep your wallets shut on release.

i still think we should have shlt steel of the year comp and send the studio the award for who ever produced it to show what there doing wrong!
maybe then they may come have a look at hdn and try to embrace the steelbook community and ask whats good and whats bad because currently its clearly not working the produce and we either except it or don't.
The staff only ever pass on info from retailers what there told be nice if we could change the status quo from the staff being told, to the staff being asked by studios to consult the community. not that im having a go at the staff they do a great job just wish it could be changed for the better.

and i still say lets do a rubbish steel award maybe thats what it truly needs embrassment :bag::bag::bag:

basil

Good idea.

But I still don't think DoFP is anywhere near as bad as Big, Speed, The Day the Earth Stood Still or Robocop. At least it has a title on the spine unlike the UK Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 which is worse as it doesn't match The Hunger Games, Catching Fire or (I imagine) Mockingjay Part 2.

To date, the only extended edition of a film to be released by any studio have been The Hobbit films. Not just Fox

Even my wife, who couldn't give two poops about Steelbooks thinks that this is complete garbage and knock a better job out in MS Paint.

And wtf is with all the blue, anyone know?

Totally missed this announcement. Looking at the artwork I can't say I'm disappointed - it's hideous.

Will be interested to see the cut though
