It's pretty amazing that month after month, year after year, we still get the occasional slashed spines - this seems to be an impossible problem for distributors and retailers to solve. They just keep on damaging their merchandise, and we get to enjoy the results

Trivially easy. Of course it would mean additional work and material. But it would still be a tiny fraction compared to the wasted time in customer service and lost revenue in the form of replaced steelbooks/shipping costs.

I just can't wrap my head around why nobody in the loop seems to be able to do something about this

You mean the scratch card thing? The vouchers on them expired on the 31st October, so there wouldn't be much point in Zavvi including them.

FYI the GB copies came in 3x boxes of 5x copies each. 4x copies had spine slashes + 1x dented Same s**t, different day.

Agree. The scratch card did say limited to 1000, but these were only given at the Con. Luckily managed to get one, so that is a nice addition to the steel.
