Steelbook collectors should definitely stop by our stall (1361) at MCM Expo Comic Con... We'll be selling an Ultra Limited run of the Young Frankenstein #Steelbook with this electrifying artwork. Only 1000 copies! Good ol' Igor, we're glad he made the back cover.

Any unsold copies should be available online within a few days of event.

DESPICABLE! How do Zavvi still have the nerve to continue to mislead customers? Sold Out should mean exactly that!

Those who attended the Comic Con Expo in London specifically to grab this title (which was supposed to be sold there and only there) are probably feeling a bit angry and frustrated right now! I know I am! What's the betting that Zavvi end up adding this to their sale at half price just to get rid of them? Wouldn't that just be a kick in the ballsack!

Got mine today - only one very, very, very minor paint chip at the top edge similar to the far right one on the pictures above, nothing else anywhere.

To me this is perfect condition and so glad I managed to snag a copy when it came back, and for £17.99 too

Hopefully some more Mel Brooks movies follow - I vote for Robin Hood men in tights and Spaceballs.

Got my one today (from when it re-appeared for ordering the other day). It has some paint chips on the back, no way near as bad as my first copy. Will probably fill in the chips with black sharpie
Out of interest, did it come with the slip or had it been removed?

I feel like I'm dropping the ball lately :

- I completely overlooked this thread (and this film) because the title didn't ring a bell / it was originally scheduled to be a convention-only steelbook. And it turns out it's not a horror film à la Arrow (I tend to avoid these steelbooks/films... yeah I know, maybe I'm missing out), it's a Mel Brooks comedy (which I actually have in my queue lined up for watching... eventually). It looks great, I would have totally bought it for £17.99, had I bothered to look at this thread, recognize the film and found out Zavvi was selling the extra-stock online. Damn.

- I cancelled my pre-order for Zavvi's Tangled, because I already have Kimchi's lenticular version, and not a day goes by when I don't regret it. Okay, it was €26.65, and it's the same art as the lenticular slipcover, but it is gorgeous. Damn my 'no double-dipping' policy (except for Mondo's Drive). I am seriously tempted to keep my pre-order for The Lion King even though I have the "cult" Asian steelbook.

- I had all four Alien films in my basket on Zavvi for €30.68, and I didn't buy them because I already have all these films in a fine collector edition and I think I'm a complete steelbook junkie for even considering that purchase of cases. Still, €31 was a bargain, and I kind of regret it now.

- Cancelled my Guardians of the Galaxy Zavvi pre-order, because I'll have to wait for December 13 to pick up the FNAC exclusive. Even though I really don't like the art chosen, I feel like I have to buy it, and what would upset me even more is if I can't find any at my FNAC store (Captain America 2 sold out very fast), so that 3-week period between the UK release and the French release annoys me. I don't want to end up empty handed.

- I have not received my The Fall Novamedia exclusive yet, I feel like I have been screwed here , I'll go at the post office tomorrow just in case there was a problem (my name started to fade away (not a metaphor) on my mailbox). Then, I'll turn to Nova and see what they can do to deliver me my The Fall. That certainly does not make me want to get up at 6am to pre-order American Hustle.

- Is it all worth it? These are just Blu-rays after all, and I'm not feeling the rush/excitement like back when I started collecting about 19 months ago. And what's the meaning of life?

So that was a page from the diary of the Melancholic Steelbook Collector :pigeon: :D.

I think this is one of the ugliest steelbooks I've ever seen :)
So I'm just trying to understand: what is so special about this steelbook? Because of the limited run? Or gloss finish?
