Steelbook collectors should definitely stop by our stall (1361) at MCM Expo Comic Con... We'll be selling an Ultra Limited run of the Young Frankenstein #Steelbook with this electrifying artwork. Only 1000 copies! Good ol' Igor, we're glad he made the back cover.

Any unsold copies should be available online within a few days of event.

Yeah I noticed that. Shame it's a nice steel. What else they selling? Looks a bit empty and dull compared to CEX and the inflatable shark lol

Oh I just noticed the random vader and iron man bust sitting a bit lonely

That CEX stall is big and near the entrance...Can't miss it with that shark!!!

Zavvi - Only two steels on sale today BUT way more for tomorrow and Sunday...I'll get a list up when I've recovered!!!

I have to say even though I had the location it still took a couple of laps to actually find the stall.

I really like the Steelbook, nice finish that really suits the design just right.
I will be shocked if they get rid of the whole 1000, especially as it is so hard to find them. I had to rush back to work so had to sacrifice any time to really look around as I spent it all looking for the bloody stall :(

Did you have to walk round the building then that BONKERS barrier maze

I'm judging, based on the fingerprints, that this is gloss. Nice, was expecting a crap matte finish since it is fox. Hopefully it will go on sale on the website although the price tag is a downer

Why everyone only wants a fingerprint magnet all the time always makes me wonder

Well besides the awesome shiny look, gloss really brings out the color in a steelbook. Almost all of my steelbooks that have a matte finish are pretty dull colorwise. The gloss darkens dark colors and brightens bright colors. And the whole fingerprint thing is easy to avoid for all the benefits you get. A simple small microfiber cloth like you use to wipe of your phone screen works for the fingerprints on the steelbook.

I really can't understand why people like this design. It's a film made in the style of the old Universal horror movies and the cover in no way captures that. The only thing it does is say "this film has Gene Wilder & Marty Feldman." I would have got this if the design was more representative of the movie.

Day 2 at MCM Expo Comic Con London. We've upped our game today and our stall is piled high with Steelbooks. Still plenty of Young Frankenstein stock available, come down to stall 1363 for your copy

This is a bit off topic but have a look at some of the steelbooks on display

I dont care what anyone says .... this is REALLY COOL!

I've been to a few comic-cons (some of the biggest) and you know how many steelbooks for sale I find there? ZERO.

This is good for the hobby, and good for collectors. It also only makes sense to hold back a few qty of steels that are sold out so you have some special stuff for your event.

So they received their stock of 'Maleficent' on the same day it was dispatched, but they have 'Clerks' six weeks before the release date? Hmmn.....

Correct me if I'm wrong but don't Scanavo send steelbooks to a department of the studio instead if directly to the seller?

If so, in this case I would not surprised if it's true that zavvi received it on the day , that's Disney for you - they're a superpower compared to Lionsgate.

If there are steels to hold back then it is NOT sold out.
The thing is, they're lying about 'X' being sold out so they can sell to people in London whilst a collector who is missing out 'X' has no way or means to get hold of it.
There are collectors who are now feeling alienated.
Whilst I agree it's good for the hobby (which at this point in time, doesn't matter in the slightest) it is not good for the collector.
This is coming from someone who is completely unbiased as I don't want 'X' or any of the steels on that stall for that matter.

Lets be honest though. They have less than 100 of any of the ones sold out. Even if they had 100 for arguments sake for each one that is 5% of an ultra limited print run and 2.5% of a 4k print run. For most of these we're looking at only about a dozen which is less than 1% of a print. And another point that should be made is that nowhere does it say Zavvi has to put 100% of a print run online. As long as they don't lie about the print size if they want to hold back 1% of their print run for a convention there is nothing wrong with that. Plus we will likely see whatever stock they don't sell at the convention go up for sale online.
