Ours comes of SOOO easily!I usually use the 'hairdryer' method. But when I did that with one of those slips it was still glued on like you said and I tried to remove parts of it but it left some bad sticky stuff.
Anyway this is my backup method. I used this as well for the other two Fox slips.
Found it at Canadian Tire a while back. I think 6.99 or 9.99. And its like magic. I just wet the sticker with clean cloth and let it stay for half a minute or so, and then it just comes off like wet paper
As you can see it takes away everything without damaging the slip. I would proceed with caution on slips that have sparking effect or stuff like that. I've tried it on many slips (matte/gloss), and so far no damages. Even the Studio Ghibli slips. 
P.S. @bloodsnake007 I REALLY want that Aliens slip now

Man, I've used GooGone before, but I'm sooooo skeptical about using it on a matte-finish slipcover. A tad too much and the slip is ruined.
But yeah, US Walmart stickers are horrible compared to the Canadian ones!

Have you tried this particular one before? I asked specifically "to remove stickers" and this is what they pointed at. It says "Citrus Power", so if you do pick it up, make sure of that. But yea, too much is never good. I actually wet the cloth first so most of it gets absorbed by it. I go to the Fullerton location or second spin in Costa Mesa. The Fullerton location had the blu ray & dvd section separated, not any more which stinks.
Mine consolidated as well. It's somewhat nice because everything is now on shelves with the spine facing out. Makes it easier to browse.
They now separate by genre (which I kinda hate) instead of just keeping everything together.
