This is what I am thinking. Not sure if I really trust BB packaging so I may cancel my pre-order and just check out the 3 local BB's that are all within 20 minutes of each other.

It's a crapshoot - I just got a steelbook the other day that came in a cardboard envelope and it was mint.

Personally, I would keep the online order.

If you go to the store and they don't have any, you are hosed.

You can always return the online order instore if it arrives damaged.

You'll not want to be left on the outside looking in on this one, might as well take every precaution that you get a copy.

It doesn't make sense for Best Buy to lower the price when this is so limited and possible to sell out on day 1...

Maybe there are more copies than we think.

i believe that will be the sale price for that week. Usually best buy's steelbook's are in that price range but then are $30 once their back to their regular price. You can take a look at the online ad for the week of 3/17 on best buy's website when that is up. Zero Dark Thirty steelbook's will be advertise on their you will see the sale price as well. hope this helps.

@Taishig usually every movie that release's goes on sale for 1-2 weeks. Including steelbooks, special/limited edition packaging. All retail store's are like that. (Wal-mart, Target, etc.)

Sometimes we do receive more copies when the week is over. The last steelbook I can remember was the resident evil retribution. Those steel's sold out day 1, but later that week, the store received about 5 more copies I believed.

To a lot of people price is first, and second is the cool packaging.

It's priced the same as the plastic case, so given the choice, who in the steelbook section would pick the plastic one?

Yes sometime after 12:01am ET on release day, they will turn on the buy button BUT uncertain if it will be available for all purchase options. It might only be for in store pick-up. I say this because Best Buy don't put up the Coming soon button on the web site if there is inventory for online pre-orders like for Les Miserables.
