Are we likely to get a response from Plain Archive anytime soon?
About what, I don't think they have anything to answer for. This is just how the checkout system works. If there are 500 copies of something and 500 people all add it to their cart, but take longer than a few minutes to check out, then it will still show in stock until all 500 of those people check out. If one of the 500 don't order, or get an error somewhere along the way, that copy gets thrown back out, and whoever was lucky enough to click "checkout" at that time, will get to the next step and not hit a "sold out" message. Once all 500 of the people have checked out, then it will finally show Sold Out on the main page. It's the same as Mondo's checkout system, you just have to be patient and keep going back and forth between the sold out screen and checkout screen until you get through or until it's actually sold out.

Folks my order confirmation email for a tripack came in at 6:09pm immediately after completing my order.

That is iron clad proof that the tripacks did not sell out in less than 9 minutes.

This was not a server issue with PA. It was a website software inventory issue.

And stuff like this further supports my push to DITCH this way of ordering for these hot Asian steels.

Group Buy forum style (a 5 second single click "order") is the cleanest and most reliable way to do it.

These advanced real time inventory and website glitches are far too frustrating and cause too many problems.

Nope...

When it went live, i added a triple right away and a few seconds later i got the INVENTORY ISSUES. Tried refreshing etc... and ended up with nothing.

Sometimes I wish we had a thumbs down button.

I understand that you're frustrated and don't like scalpers and just regular collector's that sell for high prices instead of being a good ninja like many on this site is.
But this is a collectible hobby we're taking a part in and a big part of that is usually high values even if the item originally only cost $20, $30 or whatever it may be.
This hobby has gotten to where it's at partly because of those high values.

Of course HDN should allow members to try to sell their items for whatever price they want be it $1 or $1000.

I realise we're going slightly off topic so I'll just say that as this is a 'community', one should come to expect that ripping others off doesn't do a great deal for community spirit. One must ask oneself whether one values the sense of 'community' over the potential financial value of their 'products'. One is important and worth striving towards, the other, not so much. That's my two cents anyway.

Yep, this kind of thing happens with Mondo stuff a lot. The point is that if you're fast enough to add it to cart and start the check out, you're not punished for being careful with shipping/payment.

WOW! Sold out (most editions) within minutes with a print run over 5000? Proof that quality trumps rarity.
But I cant shake the feeling some of these may come back in stock after PA sorts out all the inventory issues.

Exactly, if you get through, you can take your time to checkout without worrying about someone stealing your copy. The only problem is that hundreds, if not, thousands are getting that 'sold out' message and quitting right at that point. But if you're patient and lucky, you can still get it. I've scored almost every Mondo release I've wanted since they changed their checkout system.

Not happy as I missed out on the my main wants as I was aiming to get everything (Quadruple or Triple combos) only to get messed up with their inventory issue leading in me missing out on PET and 1/4 too ;(

Massively annoyed and disappointed as I have a if gap in my PA collection missing...

I absolutely agree with you that the community is something to strive for but I find it slightly naive to think that in such a large community as HDN is, that many of it's members won't turn to the dark side so to speak.

And like I said, it's partly what this hobby is built on. High value items like Iron Man FS, John Rambo and such are the foundation of this hobby.

But that discussion on high prices isn't anything new and could easily have it's own 20 page long thread.

Anyone able to order the full slip steelbook and the full slip keepcase? They show as in stock for me and others.
