unusual it was sent to customs. Was it marked at $20 merchandise?
I really hope you receive it in good nick. I've had some horror stories with our customs. Once I bought a brand new ET DVD box set (it was heavy) and they opened it and absolutely destroyed everything. Even all 3 discs looked like someone went at them with a screwdriver. I swear it was done on purpose.
I lodged a complaint but never got anywhere. Every time, you're dealing with someone different who just passes the buck along. Pardon my French, but they are absolute bastards.
Fingers crossed for you. It only ever seems to happen to stuff from Asia aswell.
They'd better not even think of looking at my Nova Avengers >(
I have already contacted DMC customs I rang them yesterday morning after I originally contacted An Post
DMC Customs said to me
They said they know its more than 1 item in the box and the customs label is not matching the contents
They told me they sent me a letter on Friday with details and instructions of how to get my parcel delivered to me I expect to get this letter on Monday
They told me I will need to provide a copy of my payment invoice and send this info by email and as soon as they receive this info they will release the parcel to me
This of course means I will be hit for VAT and handling charge payment
It was marked as $20.00 merchandise as far as I know
This release been a big box and having Zero Dark Thirty written on the box it was going to grab the attention of parcel arriving into Ireland
The weight alone would have been a giveaway its not $20.00 or it not one item inside the parcel
It also might have been a problem with the customs label only listing 1 item as in 1x quadruple pack
and a scan of the contents showing more than 1 item
With parcels arriving into Ireland its hit or miss if your parcel gets sent to customs or just gets processed for delivery straight away with An Post but it was always going to be a risk with this release if it got caught by customs due to the packaging and weight of the box
As long as my parcel contents arrive intact I will be happy its just a wrong time for me for making a estimated payment of around €44.00 as that's what the VAT and handling post charge most likely will be
I don't have any issues with getting hit for the VAT Payment as Its meant to been paid anyway its just bad timing for me to pay it
You get lucky or not lucky with parcels were the value is marked down below the threshold if you get caught you just have to pay the charge
I just hope I'm not waiting to long after I provide the details of my payment invoice for them to deliver my parcel and the contents arrive in perfect condition
I was told after they get the invoice its around 2 days for parcel to get released
I will know by the tracking when its on its way to me
I expect the payment will be when the postman arrives to deliver or an option I pay in advance I will know that answer when I get the letter and when they reply back to me by email after I have sent the details
