From my experience you pay the customs fees to the postman - I paid €14 on True Detective Digipak from Amazon which as far as I can remember had a value declared at 34.99 usd. Most of that €14 came from charges from An Post.

I have to send Customs my payment invoice
My Quadruple Pack cost me $136.00 +$32.00 Shipping =$168.00
With Rep of Ireland VAT for import of goods is on cost of good and shipping costs
VAT is 23% of total cost and good+ shipping cost and not collected if the VAT comes to less €6.00

I wont be hit for Customs Duty as its only calculated on cost of goods over €150.00 at 3.5% and excludes shipping costs
The Duty is not charged if its €10.00 or less
My PayPal invoice $168.00
PayPal payment was €162.81 Euro
So I'm looking at
VAT €37.44 + An Post handling charge €7.00
Total will be around €44.00



The VAT It might be lees if they go by the exchange rate its now for $ to €

I'll check for you, but Australian customs are different as they aren't bothered by value as we get a $1000 limit. They do however get funny on importing some things.

I just think the postal service have been heavy handed somewhere down the line

There is no invoice inside the parcel

I have already been in touch with customs on the phone yesterday
They just want the original invoice that's all
They have sent me a letter on Friday requesting this and what I need to do to get my parcel delivered and I was told on the phone the letter will request the original payment invoice
This Letter will arrive on Monday

They told me they will release it for delivery after they get the original invoice in about 2 days
They will then reply to me with a bill for VAT + An post handling charge which will be for around €44.00


I wont be asked anything about the customs slip or to explain anything about it as it not me who posted the parcel
If they ask any questions that will be with Plain Archive not me

All they want is the VAT that's all
Any questions about a customs slip will only be asked to a sender not the receiver of the parcel as the customs slip was not done by me

Finally arrived today and PA have absolutely nailed it again. Honestly, the 1/4 slip is easily my favourite package of any steelbook I own.

Got a bit worried about being hit by customs after a few of the posts here, but luckily managed to avoid any issues.

In looking at the awesome pics posted here, it occurred to me that the most limited edition in this series is the keepcase with full slip (700 copies of which 300 for international orders).

Back on topic then - that PET full slip is definitely a game changer for SteelBook collectors if it is not already. We need more editions like these - WEA, high quality slips, meaningful goodies, and excellent customer service!

Got the dreaded Royal Mail card while out this morning, payment of £11.32 due (includes the £8 handling fee - hopefully 'handled with great care' for that cost ). Agreed it could have been a LOT more. Should be thanking Plain for probably not stating correct value on package.
