Maybe a few people also cancelled their order after the German rerelease was announced. I know I reduced my play.com order significantly afterwards...

Might not be as simple as that.

Oldboy and BR were higher than Zombieland, for a short period of time (say a week). They could have sold many many times the number of copies per day in that time. That's why they sold out so quick (especially BR which must have sold circa 600 a day on average).

Zombieland has been a consistant seller but it's as clear as night following day that it has had nowhere near the surge of sales as the other 2 had.

oldboy and BR wasnt higher ranked than zombieland. same happend with watchmen btw. so this have an very high print rate or play manipulate the charts to sell more copies. i gues its the second one...not the first time these charts confusing me. think about bourne trilogy, 4k printrun and topseller for decades, something just don't match there.

Is the German release perceived as "better"?

Tough to say, if it indeed is completely identical to the original release that fetches 100€+ on ebay, than a perfect replica of that one is probably higher in demand than the play.com rerelease. Still 2 different things though, but I cancelled all my extra copies anyway and just ordered one for the collection...

I just cancelled my order of one! Play.com is releasing too many steels lately and the re-releases in germany aren't doing any good for the collectors.

stay in preorder charts longer and higher than BR and Oldboy. must have an 20k+ printrun or these play.com charts are wrong as hell.

I can't see the print run being anywhere near that. Remember how long Prometheus was at the top of the charts for, that took a good while to sell out and that was an 8k printrun. I would still guess at this being 4 or 5k.

hm ok, but there is something wrong with these play.com charts anyway. the steelbook charts are ranked diffrent than the "best sellig charts" and if u type "steelbook" in searchfield and rank them to best selling its diffrent again etc. so maybe one of these 3-4 lists are correct but it also means the other charts are wrong.

I think the list is bugged, it's always the same titles near the top. As for this title, I think the print run is 4k just like every other catalogue title barring The Terminator.

I'm not sure how the charts work at play or how accurate they really are. I just use them for a rough idea of what titles are most popular.

My hopes for this title have been raised by the fact that the Men In Black Trilogy is embossed/debossed. Same for this one please Play.com!

Oh yes! that would be a very nice surprise, fingers crossed! :D

This would have sold out by now if it was identical to the German release (which still commands a pretty high price). Who thought grey, green and orange were a good combination of colours? In an effort to be different, Play have forgotten that it has to be good.

There, I said it.

Someone had to say it.

Do people really like the blood? Like someone with a nose bleed has just been handling it? The inside is the worst part of the German release (which also has blood).
