Joker 2.0 1/6 Scale Figure Review

Joker2.0-1

Following the long delays that have come to be the regular norm for Hot Toys, The Joker 2.0 finally was delivered and boy was it worth the wait. At first with the price tag of $274 it’s enough to intimidate anyone; I know it’s almost $300 bucks for a figure. Crazy right? But once you open the box and see everything that is included, you can almost excuse the high price tag of $274.(repeated) The Joker 2.0 comes from The Dark Knight line and is the 2nd revision of the now iconic character. Why don’t we start with the details!

Joker2.0-4

For starters, The Joker 2.0 is part of Hot Toys flagship DX series, the Joker 2.0 is the DX11. This one is packed with accessories it includes the following; 8 gloved hands; 6 non-gloved hands; a pencil; 3 different types of knives; a pack of US Dollars; a set of cards; handcuffs; a handgun; a machine gun; a blade for the shoe; a table; chair; lamp; double sided diorama background; and a stand. Those that pre-ordered early enough managed to get two more accessories from Sideshow Collectibles and those were the detonator and Grumpy clown mask.

Joker2.0-15

There’s more than meets the eye with the accessories though, the bullet clips have a bullet built in (obviously plastic) which adds even more realism. Two of the knives can even be closed and opened to display the knife. The table has a hole where the pencil fits and stands up; this is to recreate the famous “wanna see a magic trick?” scene from The Dark Knight. That’s not all the figure itself is carrying a chain on his pants, there’s just so many things like these that make this figure stand out. The box also includes a knife that fits on one of the Joker’s shoe. The Sideshow Collectibles exclusives are a very nice addition to the figure and it really rounds it off quite well. Major difference between this and the first release is the grenade jacket; this new version does not include it. However, everything else has been updated and my personal opinion is that is just simply a much better release.

Joker2.0-19

The figure itself comes with its iconic purple suit. Underneath the coat, the figure has another grey jacket and underneath that jacket we see that he is wearing the green vest and long sleeve shirt from the movie. The fabric of the coat is definitely not to my liking, but I’m willing to overlook it. The other garments are actually quite detailed and I can probably say impressive. The pants and shoes look movie accurate, but the socks appear to be somewhat off. I’m not trying to nitpick at everything, but I am just throwing it out there, some folks may care about the accuracy of the socks. Just saying.

Joker2.0-12

The figure includes two headsculpts, yup that’s right two! There is a smiling and a more serious headsculpt. Both are absolutely incredible. They are very high quality and highly detailed. Some may not like the way they were painted, but I felt they did the job right. The serious looking headsculpt includes the PERS system which I managed to use with ease. Although be extremely careful as you don’t want to accidentally break the PERS. There’s always a debate on which company has nailed the likeness of the Joker, but judging just this figure I can tell you that the resemblance is spot on!

Joker2.0-20

I don’t think I have much else to say, if you missed on the first set of Jokers that Hot Toys released a few years back, then this is your chance to pick this incredible figure. The price is steep, but the contents inside the box are well worth it.
