Visionary director Guillermo Del Toro and SideShow Collectibles have collaborated in bringing Pacific Rim to the fans and collectors with statues from the film: Gypsy Danger and Knifehead.
The US Jaeger named Gipsy Danger is the lead machine in the film and the statue looks like it has jumped right off of the screen. First thing to note are the amazing intricacies in the armor plating and detailing that sets this statue in its own class. The pose it’s in and the base show how it towers over cities to defend the area from complete destruction. The release date for the statue is May 2014 and the pricing is $399.99 USD before the shipping charges.
The Knifehead kaiju is a shark-like beast with a huge blade for a head making it a sight to see. The details of the skin texture, small chips in the blade of its head, and aqua coloring in the mouth look awesome. The base shows the kaiju emerging from the water and creating huge waves is an excellent choice by the sculptors. Also, the fishing boat in the base shows the scale of how massive these monsters are in the movie. I expected nothing less of these statues but SideShow still haven’t failed to impress me. The release date for the statue is April 2014 and the pricing is $379.99 USD before the shipping charges.
