Warner Bros has just announced the release of the extended edition of The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug on Blu-ray. The new and definitive version of the film has over 25 minutes of extra footage. It also includes nine hours of special features including audio commentary with Peter Jackson, Philippa Boyens the co-producer/screenwriter, plus “The Appendices,” a multi-part documentary focusing on various aspects of the film and the Trilogy. It releases on November 4th and the combo pack includes the 2D Blu-ray, and HD digital copy.
