Natee has always wondered what happened to his parents and when he confronts his uncle, he tells him he can let it go or move out. Nate trains and inserts himself into the criminal underworld to discover the truth. He is cold, focused and trained, but not even that can help with the people he deals with. The deeper he goes, the worse he makes things for himself and the people he cares about.
VENGEANCE OF AN ASSASSIN follows the formula of any good revenge movie: have a kid with determination, a long list of bad guys, and a few family secrets. This film has all of that and more. There is great action with characters that are memorable. The violence doesn’t feel mindless or there just to fill scenes. It is clearly to move the story along and keep the scenes intense. This film could just as easily be a video game with the way the story is told. It is definitely one of the best Asian action movies out there.
VENGEANCE OF AN ASSASSIN has been transferred in 1080p AVC and it looks great. There is a yellowish hue to the entire movie and it creates a warm look. The daytime scenes are not super bright but they show that you can film day scenes without an abundance of sun. As far as the colors go, they are brilliant in both the clothing and items in the background. The contrasting also looks very good and small details can easily be seen in various shots. This also takes the blocking and crushing down to a minimum.
Well Go has released another Blu-ray where the sound effects have been realistically recreated. The audio track is a DTS-HD MA 5.1 mix that makes excellent use of the sound field. One great example of this is when the bullets are whizzing around from one side to the other. There is also good ambient sounds of Thailand with chatter and the noise of the traffic everywhere. The bass is strong when there are hard punches and loud gunfire. This gives some depth to the action.
The extras on the release are only the trailer and the previews.

VENGEANCE OF AN ASSASSIN plays out like an old school action movie from the ’80s. There is a lot of action, gunfights, loud punches, and a revenge story. There is a little goofiness to it, but I think it is there so that the audience doesn’t think the filmmakers take themselves too seriously. The audio and video are pretty solid, but there is not much in the way of bonus features. Overall, if you’re a fan of the genre, this is an easy film to recommend.
