We regret to announce that the pre-order date for The Imitation Game(+ Becoming Jane) has been pushed back from December 29 to Early January of next year.

It's taking the film's distributor longer than usual to approve our package design since we're in the holiday season. The exact date and time for the pre-order will be announced as soon as possible. We offer our sincere apologies for the delay.

On their webshop: Guaranteed a copy if you place an order before February 5th.
So this release will be unumbered, why? :ohno:

Maybe they'll level the run hinging on the number of pre-orders they'll receive within that date. In doing that they can still manage to number & limit their edition.

e.g.: They'll receive 800 pre-orders within Feb 5. On Feb 6 they start manufacturing an edition of 1000 copies.

I understand that but in this case why don't they number 1 to 1000 this release. One of the interest to collect Plain's edition it's also to have numbered editions. But i can understand that for such release for which one they don't really know how many buyers they will have they don't want to produce too many copies (like for IDA for example).

When they have announced the title they were talking about a 1500 printrun, so why don't they keep this number and make a 1500 numbering?

What I meant is that they don't know as of now how much interest will raise this title. My guess (and it's just my guess!) is that PA is giving itself a sufficient period of time (a week: 29 Jan -- 5 Feb) to roughly estimate how much of a run they should grant to this title, without having spare copies on their webshop for the months ahead. For example: in that week they'll just get 350 pre-orders? Then go for a 500 limited run! They have till Feb 29 to actually produce them. Again: they get 1001 pre-orders whithin 5 Feb? Then a 1250 limited run should be reasonable. And so on.

  • The copies numbered only 1~100 will be allocated on a first come first served basis, after that the rest of the copies will be dispatched at random.
Taken from Becoming Janes page on Plain Archive. So it definitely is going to be numbered. Atleast a 100 print run :D

Can also get the triple pack for £69.50/€90.79/$99
