i think most Disney/Marvel releases have Blank spines thats why Asian retailers have an edge due to the slips

Yes the Marvel releases tend to have images of various characters, but I've never really noticed it on Disney releases

It seems like recently they've suddenly decided that it's a good idea to have character pic spines on steelbooks, even though most people in the steelbook community dislike them!

Disney/Marvel doesnt care. They know their products will sell itself. I just hope we hear updates for this before the zavvi despatched email..
