Numbering on a package is pretty acceptable to me. Blufans and kimchi exclusives do this very well. Laser etching steelbooks is a bunch of rubbish. It adds no new dimension to me as a collector other than a bunch of random numbers on a steelbook. So many items in many households are laser etched. This is not a new technology rather one that is being applied on the wrong item to me. I have dinner plates with laser etching and countless others I care not to mention

I look forward to receiving mine. I definitely like the numbering as an extra way to show it's limited release, but maybe next time the number could be on the back. I've not seen the film, so this was a blind buy but am looking forward to seeing it for the first time.

Embossing on a Studio Canal release? I never thought I'd see the day.

That day has been and gone, June 3rd 2013 ;)

What the heck are people complaining about. Its emobossed and laser etched. Only the 2nd blu steelbook to have it done.

The laser etching makes it look worse in my opinion. It is way too conspicuous and actually detracts from the artwork. As suggested above it should be in the corner or preferably on the back. Other than that it is a decent Steelbook, but the finish is disappointing.

Totally agree. This would have been super with gloss especially since the embossing is so good. I like the fact they embossed the picture and not just the title. Too many times studios just indulge in very lazy embossing of just the title. I want to see more creative embossing like this or forbidden planet or the conjuring.

I think it's a pretty nice steelbook overall... glad I pre-ordered, even though I know it'll drop in price sooner or later. I love that they've numbered them, but yeah... the placement of the numbers could have been better. No doubt Zavvi are taking note though. :)

Not quite sure where the number is etched on this release, but it's not apparent to those of us who wish to keep ours sealed. Must be hidden on the back somewhere beneath the J-card. Disappointing. Should be clearly visible from the get-go.

Ordered two with the intention of doubling my chances of getting a more favourable number, but have to send one back because it has a 2 inch scratch down the front. Could be #0001 for all I know. Suppose I'll never know!

It don't matter where they put it, people would moan or have a different place to put it. Let's be thankful it's numbered for a change. If this would just go to 9.99 I'd have one.
