This Limited Edition is available exclusively from zavvi.com in the UK and Europe. 6,000 copies of the PlayStation 3 version are now available for pre-order on the site, in addition to 4,000 copies of the Xbox 360 version. A total of just 8,000 (PS3) and 5,000 (Xbox 360) units of this edition are being manufactured worldwide, so numbers are strictly limited. Both of these editions have now appeared back on zavvi.com, and are both available for pre-order as of today, while stocks last.

If you placed a pre-order for the original PS3 Limited Edition that was announced back in August (and which was unfortunately made unavailable recently) that pre-order will be automatically carried over to secure you a copy of the updated edition.

Basically Zavvi's new release will have no MGS1 or MGS4 and more merch. Though some folks are reporting that Zavvi's promising MGS4 for those who pre-ordered the initial PS3 MGS HD Collection SB.

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater opens the set, with series hero Snake entering a Soviet jungle where intelligence reports a vital scientist is being held captive. Set in the 60s of the Cold War, Snake Eater sees Snake using his stealth abilities in a whole new locale - under the cover of the jungle foliage where various camo fatigues can be used to sneak into areas undiscovered. Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker takes place a decade later and details the operations of Big Boss in Costa Rica. no, the outer game box was not okay either, creases and damage in quite a few places. Just the stuff inside the box was fine (in my case)

Oh man, this sucks, wish they would have taken the care to ship this with more protection since it is a 'limited edition' item. I e-mailed them before to ask about the packaging and they said they would 'look into' doing something about it. I guess they decided it was not worth it.

Does anyone know why the Zavvi packages always come in a big white bag if it is a large package. There is no address or anything in the bag either. Does it mean the item is damaged or was lost in transit before?

I saw soo many complaints and pictures like your so I cancelled mine before they shipped it. I didn't want to deal with a company with bad reputation.

They told me I need to return the item, but they will reimburse me for the return shipping cost if I show them the receipt. I originally asked for a refund but then inquired about a replacement copy if they can guarantee that it would be well protected this time.
They then replied and said their shipping department now makes sure these are shipped properly with protection, so I will give them one more chance since I really really want this one for display purposes (keeping it sealed for sure). :/

You should know, they are talking utter crap. They said the same after they shipped out the BSG collection tins in large bubble envelopes, and years later nothing has changed. I've also seen no evidence that the outsourced CS they use can do anything useful. I had an order cancelled with them once as it had been priced too low, which they agreed to send me at the original sale price once the item came back into stock. 6 months and 20 emails later, despite it being back in stock, they had done nothing. They don't care about anything but getting you off their back, and they'll lie to do it. They clearly have no oversight.

A large low quality box and a a bit of bubble packaging is already their idea of the best possible packaging, so I doubt they'll do anything differently. I hope you get lucky this time though.

Assholes sent me a banged up package as well. Not worth the trouble to return overseas, etc. The only way this will get better is if we all stop buying from them, and that's easier said than done. Now they discount the price and it pisses me off more.

Yeah honestly I think all the packaging issues hurt a lot of collectors wanting this. I was lucky like you that mine arrived okay but as we can see Zaavi messed up a lot of them. They should learn from Play.com haha.

Also the 360 version being a stickerbook just made that version totally undesirable,
