Had to find out; had never heard about it, either :)

Yep, that's just a reflection of the BBFC's censorship in the 90's. Pretty much every film that had shown sight of Swiss army knives/fireworks and imitable techniques were cut. Most famous of all TMNT, the animated series, they replaced Michelangelo's nunchucks with a grappling hook.

That was only in the later seasons though, and was more to do with the makers of the show making that decision (since the show went international, they changed it for everyone) not the BBFC (imo anyway).
Early on the BBFC just cut Mike's nanchukus out completely afaik, famously they cut one of the TMNT movies (maybe the 1st one?) where one turtles weilded a string of sausages like nanchukus :wtf:

Received this yesterday and opened this morning.
This is the best condition steelbook I have ever received from Zavvi!

I have gone over it with a fine-toothed comb and can find no issues at all in coloring, paint, finish, or the steel itself so I'm very happy with this one!

You know a steelbook is special when not even a small dent on the back border bothers me because the gleaming artwork just overwhelms any imperfections.

Boy, the last few glossy, Disney steels have been beautiful. Really like the different colors used.
Too bad Zavvi has treated them like Rodney Dangerfield by giving them no respect as far as packaging goes.

The last few Zavvi Disney Steelbooks have been just as stellar or maybe more stellar than the first ones! What the haps? I'm betting they hired someone from our forums...where has @Geek Tragedy been, huh? o_O

Not to go too far off topic but I was wondering the same. Just looked and GT's last login was April, hope the guys doing okay. :dunno:

Contact them via the account options on their website, they may ask you for pics though.

Yes and, when they eventually answer, they'll offer you a 15% reduction on the price! I raised my query with them on Tuesday. On Wednesday they requested the pics. On Thursday they offered me a refund of 15% of the cost price, which I rejected as it's still available, so I want the replacement that I'm entitled to.

As of 5pm this evening, I am still awaiting a further response from them nearly 48 hours later (I sent a chaser via their Facebook page this morning).

Compared to Amazon, their "Customer Service" is appalling. When I had a steelbook from Amazon go astray in the mail recently, I raised it with them via their online chat, and they sent an immediate replacement by courier for next day delivery! Now that's what you call Customer Service, Zavvi!

They have now sent me a returns label for taking to my nearest Collect+ store (which is actually my local newsagent just up the road, so will pop along with it shortly). Ironically, within the return instructions, they state the following:

1. Wrap your parcel securely
- Always use a sturdy box or Jiffy Bag
- Use plenty of padding inside to protect the contents

Now, if only they had done that in the first place, then it would have been less likely that I would have needed to have returned a damaged item!!

I use Zavvi's previous packaging, the white boxes. It's completely against my principals but I guess sending the item back packaged properly is common sense, Zavvi should take note :)
