Philips Introduces New Blu-ray Players

The race for the best Blu-ray player on the market is on. Last week at the Philips Conferences four new Blu-ray players were introduced. The following are listed below and here are the tech specs.

The BDP3000

•The entry level player.
•Upscales DVD and has built-in DivX decoding.
•DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD decoding.
•BD-Live.

 
The BDP9100.

•DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD decoding.
•DivX Ultra decoding, 7.1 channel audio.
•One for the owners of the Philips 21:9 Cinema display, as the player is designed to support this aspect ratio perfectly.
•Subtitle Shift gives viewers the option of moving any subtitles to a different position on-screen.
•BD-Live 2.0 support.
The BDP9500

•Philips new top of the range Blu-ray player.
•BD-live, DivX Ultra decoding and a USB port onboard. The USB connection will accept sticks and hard drives and will reportedly playback MKV files too.
•Subtitle Shift gives viewers the option of moving any subtitles to a different position on-screen.
•Burr-Brown DAC’s.
•Gold-plated connections and 7.1 audio.
•DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD decoding.
•Philips’ new Qdeo video processing technology for improved contrast and detail and reduced noise.

The BDP7500

•Available in a black or silver finish.
•Touch sensitive controls.
•1080p at 24fps.
•BD-Live 2.0 support.
•DivX Ultra decoding, 7.1 channel audio.
•DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD decoding.
