Warner Bros Next Venture: The Hunchback of Notre Dame

The foundation stone of the next project by Warner Bros is in place. The project will be bringing together Tim Burton and Josh Brolin. For the scripting part the company will be adding to the crew, Kieran and Michele Mulroney. The duo earlier wrote for the Sherlock Holmes studio sequel.

The inspiration is the novel Hunchback written by Victor Hugo in 1831. The novel has deeply influenced the TV and film creations since long.  It was first transformed to the big screen in 1905. The movie was name Esmerelda. After that time again the story has been experimented by movie and serial developers. The last major adaption of the novel was in the year 1997.

The novel tells the story of Quasimodo, a bell ringer in Norte Dame Cathedral. He is a deformed personality with hunchback. The story moves along when he falls in love with a beautiful gypsy girl named Esmerelda. The story features complete Burton style melodrama, with love and betrayal, fighting the prevalent system, punishments etc.

Well the project is still in the emerging phase. Burton and Brolin will have to squeeze out their time and dates from their running projects to make this project bloom into reality. Brolin will be the actor producer for this movie.

‘The Hunchback of Notre Dame’ will be Brolin’s second venture featuring the deformed personality. He was earlier seen playing the title role with a facial scar in ‘Jonah Hex’.
