Many people who got the opportunity to watch The Rite on the big screen certainly loved it. Mikael Hafstrom is already well known as the director of ‘1408’ by Stephen King and in light of that; he has done a great job with ‘The Rite’. Horror movie buffs always look forward to watching exorcism films and a movie starring Anthony Hopkins in a truly memorable role, is indeed a must watch.

Some might say that ‘The Rite’ is not truly offering what it should as an exorcism film but rather follows the quest of a priest who is looking to regain his faith. Nonetheless, viewers are sure to change their opinion about the soft core plot of the film, after they watch all the scary scenes that are included. Not only would the film prove to be scary but is quite interesting and thought provoking as well.

For those were not lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the film yet have the chance to watch it on Blu-ray. The good news for them is that they would be watching ‘The Rite’ with numerous other features including quite a lot of deleted and extended scenes. There is also a featurette on real exorcisms by real exorcists and an enjoyable alternate ending to the film as well.

Anyone who is a fan of exorcism films and admirers movies starring Anthony Hopkins would certainly want to give the film a try and to truly enjoy the thrill and the horror, getting it on Blu-ray is recommended.
