Finally, the fourth installment in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise was released and it is indeed a big day for the fans. The huge success that this debuting film had was quite evident from the start. $2.7 billion is the global total earned by the fourth film in the franchise and this makes it the most successful out of them all. The midnight screening of the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides’ earned up to $ 4.7 million.  The success during the following weekend reached up to $90.1 million.

‘Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides’ brings a whole new plot that is extravagant as Johnny Depp’s iconic character, Captain Jack Sparrow sets forth on another adventure. Penelope Cruz was among the new additions of the cast of the fourth film and acted as a notable appeal of the film.

‘Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides’ is definitely following the footsteps of the three films before it, yet it is the first one out of them all that is released in IMAX and 3-D. ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides’ has been showcased in over 394 theaters earning up to $16.7 million in total. Debuting internationally with a huge success of $256.3 million gave the film the biggest international debut of all times. The $346.4 million gives it the fourth biggest global opening of all-time.

Thus, ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides’ pushed ‘Bridesmaids’ down the Box Office aisle to make it to the top but the film certainly deserves the success that it has had.
