Sean McNamara is the director of this true story which is based upon Bethany Hamilton’s book while Deborah Schwartz, Douglas Schwartz and Michael Berk, along with the director himself, are behind the screenplay.

The plot of the film follows the true events in the life of surfer Bethany Hamilton whose career is thought to be over when she loses her arm to a shark while surfing. Eventually she overcomes all odds to become a champion again by working hard and dedicatedly. Based on the novel which was written by Hamilton herself, director Sean McNamara has managed to bring an inspiring biopic that chronicles the life of this courageous woman who defies all odds. Upon its release in the box office in April the film grossed out at $41 million in total. August 2nd has been announced as the release date for the Blu-ray/DVD Combo package by Sony Pictures Entertainment, so get ready to take the film home.
