Till date every Pixar film has managed to top at the box office, starting right from the original Toy Story back in 1995 and up till now the Pixar franchise has managed to earn worldwide revenue of $6.6 billion.
The earnings for the original Cars which had opened in June of 2006 topped at $60.1 million. The animated film was show cased 150 IMAX screens globally and the $3.25 million earning certainly makes it quite an impressive debut. Thus, there is no doubt that by the end of the weekend ‘Car 2’ will still have quite a powerful finish.

The ‘Green Lantern’ by Warner Bros’ which had topped the box office the previous week has dropped down to the second spot at the Box office, while ‘Super 8’ another Box Office topper is now at the 4th spot.
